just a really fun, short hip-hop project

on Goddess of the Hollow, City Girl shows off her producing versatility but is a less consistent experience than the other part of the double album.

being my favorite of the double albums, Siren of the Formless sounds just like what the cover art looks like: a very serene experience with bursts of adventure. at the very least, it's a great album to put on as background, a mood booster without being too glitzy or loud.

i love this album way more than I should. for being 16, he has so much grit in his voice and this album really shows off his vocal ability and versatility. my main problem with this album, however, is the lack of song structure, as on songs like ERASE U and RUNNING, it's literally chorus/verse/chorus and then a string section outro, leaving a few songs kind of underwhelming. however, there are great songs all over this project and I'm genuinely excited to see what's next for him.

maybe not her most experimental or out there, but definitely her most personal and most consistent.

some of her best, most compelling songwriting to date, bogged down by a few less engaging tracks towards the back end.

potentially Logic's best effort to date, purely because he's under no pressure.

i, uh... i really loved this album. even though the production is handled on by Scrim himself, every song from Naloxone to PTSD to Fight Club feels different from each in some way and presents itself as very cohesive. my largest gripe with this album is the fact that it sounds way more like a mixtape, rather than an album and feels as if there is no definitive start or end to the project, which could be chalked up to the production. yes this could do with a few less tracks but what's here is ... read more

Fight Or Flight sounds like if Rivers Cuomo was LGBT and had no sense of self-awareness. light 8/10

i honestly don't really know how to score this record. on one hand, punk2 has some of the biggest, loudest, most memorable hooks in recent memory. its blend of emo rap, alt rock, and alternative r&b is incredibly unique and brakence's voice husky, emotive, and raw voice fits like a glove over these hazy, hard-hitting beats. it definitely does not overstay its welcome and leaves me with quality songs and infinite potential, making me waiting for whatever he's cooking up next.

pop with jazz flair, it's smooth as butter and subtly sweet, what more could you want?

you probably know exactly what you're gonna get from this album, and that is wayyyy more than okay.

the revolution is the genocide.

this album loses steam in the last third, but this is still a very solid jazz-rap album. you'd be hard-pressed to find many jazz-rap albums that are as cerebral, as smooth, and as memorable as this one.

although the album runs for an hour and change, Innocent Country 2 features way more hits than misses, presenting some of the best jazz-rap songs to come out this year.
