One of the most impressive scores I've listened to in recent times. Going into the movie Fendrix was only given 4 words by Lanthimos ("bees," "basemen," "spaceship," and "Emily bald,") to create the soundtrack, yet no screenplay nor visuals. So, working on purely 4 abstract words, Fendrix goes to make an immensely marvelous score, that carries with it strong identity and derivation from the words. Well, except perhaps "Emily bald." Another great song from Black Midi. Probably their best-written song yet. Deep and emotional, hitting me pretty hard the entire time with one of the best looks at PTSD I've seen in a while. If the rest of the album is anywhere near this quality (which if I go by their previous work I'd bet it will be), we'll have one of the best albums of the year on our hands.
