Pretty unique stuff. Its an instrumental EP with a mix of djent, techno, jazz, and breakcore as far as I can tell.
Favourite Tracks: Modorra Deux, ViejaHarta, Primitive Machine Prologue VII
I have not heard much of TOOL’s stuff, but after listening to this I sure am gonna listen to more of their albums. It has a pretty unique style to it, no tracks felt out of place and it all comes together well.
Favourite Tracks: Vicarious, Jambi, The Pot, Rosetta Stoned, Right In Two
I find it hard to rate this higher or lower than Vector but personally I believe it is better, they are both solid albums and have their moments but Virus is narrowly better. I really dig the last five tracks of this album, great prog and djent mixed sound.
Favourite Tracks: Prosthetic, Carousel, The Strain, All Messiah Complex Tracks.
EDIT: 88 - 82 (Still a classic, but a couple songs are just wack and bring it down)
Classic Meshuggah album. I grew up with this album thanks to my father, and every listen just hits home.
A solid debut album, personally I believe some tracks sound same-y, but some are memorable and absolutely slap. Rivers of Nihil’s sound are pretty raw and strong, but the mix could be better.
Favorite Tracks: Terrestria Thaw I, Rain Eater, Central Antheneum
Fleshgod’s sound is certainly unique, and they are very talented musicians with their previous works, but this album is just forgettable for me. The first couple tracks are a good start, but then it just falls downhill. I would still reccomended it.
Favourite Tracks: Fury, Carnivorous Lamb
I love Archspire’s ability to create heavy, speedy and dark death metal while also making it extremely catchy. Can’t wait to see what else these guys have in store.
Favourite Tracks: Drone Corpse Aviator, Abandon the Linear, A.U.M
