One of the best things to crawl out of the cesspool that is Olympia, Washington. Shame this is the only full length project we got from the band, though they live on as an inspiration on groups like Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Heavenly, The Promise Ring amongst others... and I guess the guitar playing on Beck's second album where he sings the blues. Well sings the blues in the traditional sense.
The angst. The self-hatred. The Lync inspiration. The Calvin Johnson. The aimless guitar noodling that somehow assembles into a perfectly crafted track? Yeah, this is the best era of Modest Mouse by a mile. Concluding it with M&A is just the cherry on top.

On a more serious note, Trailer Trash is up there (albeit with stiff competition) as the most devastating Modest Mouse song.
