Full disclaimer: I have not listened to every album ever made.
But if there is a better album than this out there I'd be absolutely shocked.
This is on par with Aligator and Boxer as The Nationals best work and I'll die on that hill.
(Rope) Away is absolutely exceptional here. The rest I can dig alright but as is often the case with this band I just never need to hear a second of this again. Guess I really am stuck in the 80s and 90s with Swans. Since Soudtracks I've kinda resigned myself to just saying "yeah I see the appeal here, but it just ain't for me." And that just sucks man.. always feels like everyone else is having a party (or religious sermon?) And I'm just not invited. Ah well you crazy ... read more
Man. I wanted to love this thing, it has so many beautiful moments on it as is typical of a Sweet Trip project. But no, Robbie just had to go and ruin it by being a terrible person and now Sweet Trip joins the pantheon of great bands that make me feel wrong for loving. I really really wish I still didn't know why.
The debut of one of the most, if not THE most underrated bands of the century thus far.

I got tired of of keeping my favorite albums mapped out in my head and decided to put them online instead. I got nothing interesting or original to say really.
