McKinley Dixon - Magic, Alive!
95

My most anticipated album of the year by far. And I'm glad to say that McKinley Dixon cooked so hard he made me cry on the first track. Genuinely can't stress enough how touching this album is and how much some songs on it mean to me. Ever since his last album I knew he had in him to be an all-time great someday, and in my opinion this album just solidified him as one of the best rappers of this decade. Can't wait to see where he goes next, because with McKinley it's surely ... read more

John Michel - Egotrip
85

It's really cool how lush this album is, with having so many sounds on every song it could have easily felt like a cluttered mess where no one knew what they were doing. Yet, somehow this all comes together as a beautiful piece of music with great delivery from John and amazing production from Anthony

Doves - Constellations for the Lonely
83

This is really underrated. Some songs sound so cinematic and epic it's insane. The first half is really dreamy and pretty much every song is at least a 9/10. The second half has some duds and is not as good, but overall this album still managed to really impress me.

Model/Actriz - Pirouette
90

Should I be hearing this??? This feels really personal and like making me uncomfortable...but like u know...in a really good way...

I never thought something that sounds so dark and sinister would make me shake my ass to it so much. But this is just incredible and so honest.

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz
85

THIS. GOES. SO. HARD.
And it's also really cool that I could recognise every single sample, this album is a wet dream for any nerd.

Babe Rainbow - Slipper imp and shakaerator
65

I just couldn't get into this :(

Viagra Boys - viagr aboys
88

The satirical lyrics are so iconic and quotable I just can't stop thinking about them-
But apart from that this album is so unapologetic about the things it says and about how it sounds, I kinda love it, like a lot.

Backxwash - Only Dust Remains
85

The charm this album had for the first few weeks after my 1st listen unfortunately wore off. But that is not to say that this album isn't good. It's gorgeous, magical and even haunting. Makes u actually think about the things it's trying to say and reflect on how things are. I hope it grown on me again and I will up my score even more cause this album deserves it.

SPELLLING - Portrait of My Heart
95

The only thing I've ever heard about SPELLLING is the 10 Fantano gave her album a few years back. So when I saw this album releasing I thought to myself "well why not check this out".

Well, I did, and this is like already AOTY for me. Literally nothing will top this. I have no clue why or how, but every song on here makes me wanna scream from how good it is. And if this is album is one of her less well-rated, I'm really scared to imagine what awaits me when I inevitably ... read more

Jason Isbell - Foxes in the Snow
80

Literally just a guy and his guitar and it's somehow still this good. Idk why this album works for me, probably never will, so I'll just accept the fact that it does and enjoy some damn good music. I especially want to praise the title track, that song does has an unhealthily good effect on my soul.

Panda Bear - Sinister Grift
75

It's weird how half of this album is really hitting for me and the other half just does absolutely nothing to interest me. I guess this is just not a sound I enjoy that much, but it's still pretty good.

The Lumineers - Automatic
65

Say what u want about their music, but Cleopatra and III played a huge role in my music taste and used to be some of my fave albums in 2021-2022. However, their every other album is just...okay. And while this is better than their previous LP, this is still not that good. Doubt they'll ever make anything as great and meaningful to me as their projects in 2016-2019 but oh well.

Horsegirl - Phonetics On and On
78

The lyrics are nothing really special but the melodies are so so fun even thought they are pretty simple and more calm. At first I thought this was just fine, but it's growing on me with each listen.

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
90

It could have been 95 but unfortunately I watched his movie and now I'm taking revenge for that. But if I'm being serious this album is really incredible. Is 22 songs too much? Yes. Are around 4 songs mid? Yes. But other 18 songs are just simply too good to let the other 4 drag the album down. If this is really the last Weeknd album, I'm glad to say he went out with a bang.

MIKE - Showbiz!
78

I really don't get why this album would have 24 songs 2 minutes each. Some of the beats are so cool and don't get enough time to get developed and shine. While others are really forgettable and could have used more work. But even with that in mind, this is still really really good

Mogwai - The Bad Fire
65

Not the best introduction to this band I think...oh well I'll just listen to their older stuff

Delivery - Force Majeure
65

It's pretty fun but like it doesn't stand out at all. The most entertaining thing about the whole album are the occasional moments where the their accent is really evident

C Duncan - It's Only A Love Song
55

this all really blended together and I remember like 2 songs

Pigeon Pit - crazy arms
70

this is pretty sweet, really embraces the folk influences this band has

The Weather Station - Humanhood
75

This is really nice, most songs are too long I think and get boring towards the end, that especially applies to the last few songs of the album. But, overall, this is still decent and has a really cozy feeling.
