Rick's Piano hits so hard considering Mac's passing...can't believe he made this in early 2010's
Since this is my first BCNR album I don't really know how they sounded when Isaac was still their vocalist so I have nothing to compare this album to. That being said, this pretty good, if it truly is their weakest album, I am really excited what awaits me with their 2 previous ones.
This is no I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. But it's still great in a completely different way. This sounds like nothing Bright Eyes did before, yet they also don't come off as newbies in this completely opposite of their regular indie folk genre.
some people might kill me for ranking this higher than their debut, but I just can't lie I really like this album...
this sounds like something that drunk 50-year old dudes would listen to in a bar
so maybe when I'm 50 I'll appreciate this more but rn this is clearly their worst album
I love some songs on this album so much that even some worse songs like You Burn First can't keep this album from being a 90 for me
this band is what got me into this type of music, but I must say this album wasn't my fave
This album is fire but why did someone have to mention that the album cover looks like a chipmunk, that is all I see now bruh
I'm glad Gigi had a recovery, but damn will I also need one after listening to this
This feels like a proper debut cause Connor sounds like he actually had a vision and wasn't just experimenting with random stuff
I usually don't agree with people who dislike Connors voice but here I kinda have to agree
Aside from that, decent album, could have been shorter, but at the end of the day this is just a collection of songs without much of a structure, so it is enjoyable for what it is
this was so mid I actually forgot to rate it while reviewing their whole discography...
I am convinced that the lead singer was replaced by a skinwalker on their 2 last albums cause what happened to his vocals...
U know shit is getting serious when the band releases a self-titled album in the middle of their career
New day, new opinion on this album (and it will probably change again)
This album has in my opinion the best 3 first tracks on any album in their discography, especially "Lonely, Lonely", that shit is generational. It becomes a bit weaker towards the end, but damn are those first 8 tracks juicy
Really can't understand how this album got rated so low by critics this is kinda where they peaked imo.
For me personally this album feels like their most emotional but also has some of the sickest songs ever, like "My Blue Heaven" and "Spin" which made me go absolutely feral. A great listen from to finish which u should defo check out
I am sure that album cover is not where that toddler wanted to be. Like fr what is this cover...
Ignoring the weird album cover thing, this is a pretty good step forward for the band following their first album, the vocals sound more developed, the instrumentations louder and catchier than before. I just hope these guys learn to make better album covers in the future...
