So this Album Really is to me a quintessential 2010s dance Pop record. The High points show what the best of the sound has to offer, and the low points show what some of the biggest flaws can be.
This album starts with the song that has come to define Robyn's discography. "Dancing On My Own" is probably the best track on this album, or at least Top 3 for me.
This album both felt like some fun electro pop and dance pop with sad lyrics or sexually charged lyrics, which creates a ... read more
This beef brought me out of a 7-month Hibernation to review all these tracks. I consider this the first full diss made.
So to jump into a slightly more in-depth review than most on these tracks. This song is compact and concise in production and disses but a large scattershot regarding who the targets are. It made a lot of sense for Drake to swing at everyone who came at him on the future albums, So I'm not mad at it.
This is a very solid diss by Drake Standard and a solid first diss all ... read more
This song isn't that bad. It's just very repetitive with it's Bible-based tale and general Christian themes. Would be a lot worse if the "Hallelujah" Vocal line that is repeated no joke 14 times in this 2-minute 45-second long song That's once every 11 seconds. Ending every single line with Hallelujah is a creative choice for sure. But the thing is what's weird is I don't know what this story is for or about it seems to toss together a bunch of biblical story beats and toss them ... read more
This song is just shy of 2 minutes and that might be a good thing, Considering how it sounds like one day on a Tuesday afternoon a record label was like "We need an Elvis" We're going to fall behind the times and not have a good enough radio share to get a good chunk of money. Go find us someone who can technically sing and sounds like Elvis and throw him into a studio and give him one of our producers and say "Godspeed" and make us a hit.
This song is very hokey, It reminds me of "Pony Time" by Chubby Checker, But Cheaper sounding. the song was written by Ritchie Adams as well and every #1 hit had a B-side back then. The B Side was called "Oh Yes, I Love You". Ummmm did I forget to mention it's performed by Bobby Lewis? No, you knew that already. Well okay, I really don't know what to say right now this song is very mediocre in a very uninteresting way.
