Cheshire Cat, it’s not for most people.
Most of it is objectively bad, but there’s a couple really great songs that shine through the poor production: Carousel, M+Ms, Wasting Time, Touchdown Boy.
You’re only gonna enjoy this if you’re a big fan of the band or of crappy skate punk.
It’s a rough listen honestly but I always enjoy coming back to it, some deep cuts are better than others, and some of the riffs here are pretty sweet.
For a demo, it’s pretty great, listening to it as a album leaves a lot to be desired.
The main issue with Buddha is the quality, it just sounds bad overall. The songwriting is there, the riffs and the drums are there, but they’re just kinda hard on the ears, and the singing is pretty rough to say the least.
That being said, I love this tape anyways.

The reviews for this album make no sense.
This is such a perfect continuation from where the band left off.
It’s a lot more upbeat feeling while still delving into some depressing topics.
It’s a bit more straightforward and and pop sounding (ironically they were trying to make this one less poppy) while still being rooted in a harder, rock, even experimental sound.

Insanely good debut album.
Chester immediately solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest frontmen ever.
Mike’s rapping is very hit or miss, either making the song even better or just kinda okay, luckily there’s not an overwhelming amount of him on vocals.
The riffs are great, but mostly take a backseat to the singing, rapping and DJ-ing, which surprisingly aged pretty well.
