a wonderful melancholic project; some songs do falter but i feel that overall it works and makes you feel like you're in an abandoned church.
this adds a lot to the album and makes it a lot more enjoyable in all honesty; nothing much in particular to say about a lot of the added tracks, loved CULT STATUS and COKE OR DOPE?. the b-side was quite consistent in quality; at first i didn't really care for HATE but it grew on me and it's definitely good if you're able to ignore the iphone voice recording-esque sound quality.
disappointing, the very promising singles were making this up to be as good as Danny's projects usually are but this just feels very on and off; it feels like every other track is trying to be a whole different genre/trying to do a whole different style, and that'd be alright if it would work as well as one would assume it would. plus the album feels more like a collection of songs that are only really connected by the general essence of what it sounds and feels like more than a ... read more
the unreleased tracks are great, i especially enjoy manic. i also don't mind the placement of the dlc tracks parallel to the original tracklist but the new mixes aren't all the best and i prefer the muddier and louder sound of the original more. overall i just feel like this doesn't add enough, i do hope the lack of quality/quantity does culminate with peggy's next project being an absolute masterpiece.
while i don't hate this album, i just feel sort of let down by it; i do love the more experimental, "shifty" sound of this album but some songs do lack when it comes to instrumentals and/or vocals. overall i feel it could've been better in some places but it's not awful by any means, it's just a little meh for me.
the artistry of the heart series is impeccable and this is truly another example of it. i feel this track does a good job of bridging two "eras" of Kendrick's music, making the transition between TPAB and DAMN whilst throwing some subliminals at drake. only gripe i have with this is the amount of beat switches but it doesn't really take much away from this wonderful song.
absolutely beautiful, the instrumental gives off untitled unmastered vibes but also adjacent to the style of some MMATBS songs whilst not stealing too much of the spotlight. great writing, as ever with wonderful production.
in the same way Section.80 lacks vocally, OD lacks instrumentally which makes the already fairly long songs feel longer. all of that's not to say that the record doesn't have it's highlights but even the highest highlights of this mixtape are not really comparable to any of Kendrick's other works.
interesting; obviously seeing as this and Cherry Bomb are the projects that separate modern Tyler from this Tyler, there are plenty of differences in the music and how he talks but overall this doesn't feel too far from how his modern projects feel, it just feels sort of adjacent and still developing. but it's still enjoyable, plenty good songs and catchy lyrics, and of course a great story.
starts off promising but falters mostly due to lyrical content; the album has beautiful instrumentals, i genuinely love them but even so the lyrics of the songs do overall bring down the project and make it more unbearable, i wish i could love this but it being how it is just makes that near impossible and it falls into a state of mediocrity for me.
this is most definitely the hip-hop record of 2025; beautiful instrumentals from pharrell with rap performances from both malice and pusha which just completely out-perform what you expect, coke-rap has never sounded better with the grimey sound of the track list, beautiful features and etc.
the lead up to this project was just absolutely unforgettable and the album definitely delivered on everyone's expectations.
i feel like DON'T TAP THE GLASS is a nice break from all the heavy, hard-hitting and dense projects Tyler has released in recent years and that it still manages to deliver that Tyler experience without being as lyrically dense or spreading some wider message or something, no, it's just simply meant to be a good time and it delivers on that perfectly.
a masterpiece in every regard; definitely stands up there with IGOR in my personal opinion, being as good as it and laying some of the groundwork for IGOR's more experimentative, poppy and synthy sounds. while this project doesn't have nearly as immersing characters as the projects that preceded and succeeded this one (though this could just be me :p) it still delivers a wonderful experience and a nice summery vibe that can be enjoyed by all.
wonderful debut! flush with pop songs for every mood with infectiously catchy lyrics regardless of song, this is definitely one of the pop records of this decade.
absolutely the record of 2016; it's flush with beautiful instrumentals, catchy lyrics and a wonderfully executed concept, once again, danny brown delivers.
great project with great ambitions; barely any skips and it does spread a good message but kendrick's vocal performance seems a tad monotonous and i do feel that it does take away from some of the tracks but overall the project is still enjoyable.
kendrick's leftovers come together to form a beautiful, albeit a bit of a messy project.
overhated; though it does have some unnecessary flourishes, i don't feel that it brings it down to the level the majority of people consider it to be at.
