Westside Gunn - Flygod Is An Awesome God

With a Madlib style of production, and Westside Gunn’s fabulous and vicious lyrical approach, his latest LP stands out amongst his discography. With the features on this project, all rappers perform at their best, especially on the posey track of ‘Thousand Shot Mac’ which stands out as one of the best. Sauce Walka also comes through with perhaps the best verse on the LP which I would be upset at first because Gunn didn’t finish off his own album, but Walka’s verse ... read more

It’s ambitious, it’s big, and it’s messy. Jaden Smith does what Jaden Smith does, sticks to his style which he must credited for as he seems to develop his own style yet the first into songs seem to have a ‘Nutcracker’ theme and dives back into trap synth with a feature from Tyler, the Creator. This project is incredible, with a hard hitting flow that seems relentless throughout never turning in a single that doesn’t hit; and Pete Rock’s production skills of sampling does not go unnoticed, as he accomplishes and soars above expectations.

This is a solid album! Dreamville finally capitalizes on this idea of them being one of the biggest rap labels around and while the sometimes annoying reminder throughout that they are coming for Top Dawg, it seems like that actually might be the case. J. Cole really does his job here infusing some trap bangers as well as giving very soulful and dark verses while the supporting cast of JID and Bas do a great job as the second men. EARTHGANG steps up as a whole and as in one of the songs ... read more

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

After being hushed and exiled from the mainstream community by the media, Kanye creates perhaps the most sound album, production wise, and earns backs the love and support from not only his fans but the media by revealing a more vulnerable side of himself, which the so-called egotistical musician has never done before.
