Empress Insecta - Timepiece

Quite enjoyable journey. Had my own personal " idk 'bout that " in certain sections (sonically speaking) here and there but the soundscape structure and consistency all around this album is great. Oppressive, anxious and desolate. Great job at painting those emotions.

An amazing and more than just " decent " return of an emblematic Screamo band. A lot of bands wish they could come back as hard as this dudes did with this release.

Radiohead - The King of Limbs

Misunderstanded awesome album.

Even tho this isn't like the most innovative pop album ever, it is still such a great and fun as hell listen. This album has everything that I love about pop. It is simple but its structured in such a way that it just draws a big smile in my face through the whole damn album. Probably one of my favorites releases from 2022. Charli XCX once more being my favorite " mainstream " pop artist.

Psyopus - Our Puzzling Encounters Considered

There's not enough words to describe how much this album means to me. No other album is ever going to reach the levels of absolute insanity in sound format that this one does. Some may call it just " guitar wankery " or " chaotic just to be chaotic " but this album is untouchable and unique, presenting a form of dissonance that I'm yet to see again on extreme metal music. Up there with Gorguts's " Obscura ".

The Locust - Plague Soundscapes
99

Just one of the most high energy, chaotic, ear shattering and most lovely pieces of music I've ever listened to, all encapsulated in just 21 minutes. Has being one of my favorite albums ever since I discover it and I think I'll never get tired of it (the same goes with any other release by them). This is what extreme music should aspire to be more.

Also, R.I.P. Gabe Serbian! One of the best drummers ever.

Animal Collective - Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished

Such a lovely, weird and noisy psychedelic pop album and sincerely, an absolute beast of a debut album. As abrasive as it can be sonically with the high pitched feedback noises, chaos and everything, it truly serves so much to contrast the sweetness and mellowness of the guitars, voices and synths at their most catchy parts. I don't really have much to say apart that I loves this album at " first listen " even tho I remember not really feeling it the first time I've heard it. But my ... read more

YUNGBLUD - YUNGBLUD

Horrible? Nah. As fun as looking to a rock for an hour straight? Yeah. Is so inoffensive that it puts me too sleep. Instrumentals that are just a mixture of pop punk, " new wave 80s pop " vibes here and there and also just straight up the most " top 40s " pop beats used in the most plain and least creative way possible. His voice is fine in most cases, annoying at worse. The lyrics are just " Baby's first emotional issues " that only teenagers that are realizing ... read more

Radiohead - Amnesiac

If " Kid A " sounds like being in this post-apocalyptic future where cities disappeared and the concept of reality and existence amalgamated into an abstract mass, " Amnesiac " is the remaining human beings trying to survive in it. Even if some songs still implement electronic sounds in them, it prevails the the more typical and classic instrumentation over it. Weirdly enough, this album feels even darker than Kid A. It feels lonelier and hopeless even when it feels like it ... read more

Radiohead - OK Computer
90

Even if for me " Kid A " is their absolute masterpiece, OKC is a masterpiece in its own right. An absolute classic that takes for an awesome and, sometimes depending on your mood, draining listen. The opener alone, Airbag, is such an absolute gem of a song that just drags you right into the wonderful dystopian landscape this album paints. I personally admit that songs like " Paranoid Android ", " Exit Music ", " Karma Police " and " No Surprises ... read more

Atrox - Contentum

A prog metal band with a bizarre twist in the singing. The vocals are the first thing that were a challenge as they are really particular. Like a Kate Bush/Nina Hagen fusion of madness. It can be a little bit too much at times but I say this in my first listen, I'll probably get used to it as right now I'm realizing how awesome and fun is to listen to it. But when it is not completely eccentric and over the top, it compliments the music in such an ethereal, beautiful way. Songs like Unsummoned, ... read more

Cardiacs - A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window

The whole Cardiacs discography has my unconditional love but even then I find myself coming back to this album more than the rest of them. The whole thematic of this album is so entertaining being this sarcastic and in some ways cynical point of view of existencial crisis. The album goes to playful and goofy to straight up menacing. The change of pace songs like " Is This The Life? " and " The Whole World Window " provides are so well putted and hit really hard, giving this ... read more

Muse - Will of the People

Muse again not even trying. " Generic " and " Uninspired " are understatements at this point. The best moments of this album are literally just passable enough for you to forget a little bit about the boring as shit, Ctrl+C+V type song structures this album has. AND EVEN THOSE MOMENTS ARE THE MOST BASIC STUFF EVER. The heavy chugging parts and the guitar licks and solos are just there for you to notice how they can also mimic in the most lazy and dull way others styles of ... read more

A classical contemporary metal masterpiece. My ears just feel blessed every time I listen to this album. It has my favorite aspects of black metal, doom metal, post-rock, world music, etc all congregated in 5 magnificent tracks. Demonic, insane, beautiful and melancholic. I keep coming back to this album and I still find it as absolutely perfect as the first time.

Radiohead - Kid A

Not going to say much, this album is their best with Amnesiac. A total 180 degree turn to what they constructed in OK Computer and its so good. Not a bad song in this one.

Radiohead - The Bends
81

The big upgrade. I don't really know what to say about this album that hasn't being said already but is a really strong album even if still has this alt rocky feel that reminds of Pablo Honey but more ambitious. The first half of this album is flawless. Then songs like Sulk, Black Star and Bones are really forgettable even if they are great songs that I enjoy but they aren't good enough to stand out. Bullet Proof, Street Spirit and (Nice Dream) are for sure the highlights for me as they feel so ... read more

Radiohead - Pablo Honey

Even tho is obvious that this album doesn't stand a chance to what they released on the future, this still a fun listen. Songs like You, Stop Whispering and Blow Out already show the potential they had and even if the rest of the album is more basic compositionally wise, songs like Thinking About You, Vegetable and Prove Yourself are really sweet songs that I don't mind coming back too. The b-sides for this album also are great. Oh! And Anyone Can Play Guitar is a banger.

100 gecs - 1000 gecs

This is like a compilation of the worst trends in pop music of the late 00s and early 2010s and they made it work SO fucking well. Never thought I would vibing to borderline crunkcore nightcore pop until I listened to this.

Discordance Axis - The Inalienable Dreamless
97

Like watching reality bend and destroy itself in front of you. The album that sold me on Grindcore completely. Blends the raw and contundent force of Grind with an amount of emotion that I feel never was approached in the same manner before this (not even in Jouhou). It might be the hopeless screams of Jon Chang, the razor blade sharp riffs by Marton or the frantic but controlled blasting on Witte's drumming but the intensity and adrenaline this album throws at you like a shower of lightnings ... read more
