Was so hyped for this album and man...it just did not hit like I thought it would
If you're a fan of Ice Nine Kills and Motionless you'll be a fan of these guys...but compared to the other 2 Dark Divine are just that bit weaker and sadly that bit safe.
It's rinse and repeat for the majority of the album, don't get me wrong the vocals are incredible but...it's all stuff that's been done way before and sadly for these guys to a much lesser standard
Found these guys thanks to the boys in Bleed From Within constantly singing their praises so had to check them out!
Absolutely solid EP. If you live riffs, insane bass and drums and old school Pantera/Lamb of God, you'll love these guys!
These guys never disappoint but I think this album is just a liiiittle too safe. The top half of the album is fantastic with tracks like Unbreakable and Is This The Real You. But the latter half is just...very unforgettable, which is a shame to be honest
I will give it another listen, but after the first it's very middle ground
I knew absolutely NOTHING about this band other than they're supporting Bilmuri on their next UK run...and since I'm going... I decided to check out their most recent album
MY GOD am I glad I did!! So much energy, so much anger so much... Deftones!? They're the Aussie carbon copy but that's not a negative on the slightest
From the opening track it just goes, the entire album flew by. Standouts for me are nerv, Obsession and Revolver...all of which have been added to the ... read more
The Newport boys back with a new album!
Whilst it is a great listen through, I don't think it's one I'd always come back to. It's still got the same Skindred charm and pazzaz as always but something just...lacks
They've relied heavily on the reggae roots with this one, which isn't at all bad! Tracks like Glass and Broke are phenomenal but the first 2 tracks (which are the singles they've released so far) just don't get me hyped or ... read more
This is some of Zombie's best work since Hellbilly Deluxe and The Sinister Urge. This album absolutely flew by and I was gutted when it finished
Stand out tracks for me are (I'm a) Rock N' Roller and Sir Lord Acid Wolfman. The latter track is a very sexy pirate themed track which...I never thought I'd type out or say...but that's Rob Zombie in a nutshell. One of the best releases of the year
Saw a lot of hype around these guys so decided to check them out. Sadly...Mid is the correct start to their name.
I put them in the same category as Knocked Loose. Musically they're fantastic, especially in the modern day but my god vocally (specifically the harsh/scream vocals)... absolute ass. The clean singer is the only reason I made it through 4 songs before stopping to be honest
As with Knocked Loose if they had a better "main" vocalist, they'd probably be ... read more
After hearing Bloodlust and Creature in The Black Night I had massive hopes for this album...also because Sleeptalk and Dark Sun propelled Dayseeker to imaginable heights...this was just far too safe and forgettable it's actually made me sad...
Don't get me wrong there are superb tracks on here, especially Shapeshift which I think is the stand out but everything else (besides the singles they've released) just feels so forgettable and... uninteresting. The last 2 albums had me ... read more
When this album first released, I was so hyped. ROT is arguably one of Northlanes best songs and the fact that was the first single and first track with Marcus, it instantly grabbed my attention.
Fast forward to 2025 and a re-release it's just kept it's magic but it's somehow propelled upwards. With having a good few albums under his belt, you can tell Marcus is so much more confident and found his sound and groove. Tracks like Soma, Obelisk, Leech and Ra have so much more ... read more
I only found out about these guys through a 20 second clip on social media and instantly had to check them out...and what better way than their brand new release!?
It gave off seriously old school emo vibes, in talking Deftones, Emery and even a hint of old Emarosa and Saosin. Overall the album is superb, it does fall off near the bottom half but I'm sure after a few re-listens that'll change.
My top pick from the album is Pure Leaf...the way it flows and grooves and the voice, my ... read more
What an EP this is!! Stand outside for me are 4X4 and Purify, especially 4X4. The nu metal/Korn-esque vibe it's so prominent and Purify just has a riff that makes you move man. Outstanding EP from the Swamp boys, this will be on repeat A LOT
The hate this album gets its seriously unjustified. Out of the 5 full lengths, it easily sits bang in the middle but that's only because Blueprints and Deadweight are damn near perfection.
From the off it's just fun and catchy, then you hit NAIL5 and Tombstone and it's violent and heavy. The swamp boys get hate a lot on for their softer stuff but Magnetic and Blur are some of the best clean vocals you'll hear today. I will die on the hill that this album isn't as ... read more
DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS BAND. They're going to be absolutely massive. Found them totally by chance through the single Acceptance and I spin this record at least twice a day. Every track is unique. It's heavy, it's emotional, it's beautiful...good god what a band. I cannot wait to see what they do next.
Don Broco...this is what you do from now on. Everything just absolutely clicks for the guys on this release. It's catchy, it's fun, it's aggressive. Disappear and Cellophane are easily 2 of Broco's greatest songs and BOTH are in this release. True Believers is the most in your face track and with Sam Carter as a guest, you know it's already gonna rule. Plus Nickelback, that's all that needs to be said really.
Erra does what they do best on this album, just fire out bangers. Is it their best album to date?...I wouldn't say it is, but my god is it GOOD. If there's 2 tracks you need to listen to from this it's Gore of Being and Echo Sonata. Erra in a nutshell.
Are you ready to CRANK YOUR HOG!?!!
Had to edit this review because after a second listen...it's grew on me insanely. I've found myself humming it whilst at work and been eager to replay it daily
Honest and Always Let You Down are definitely the highlights of this album. These songs are going to absolute slap live as well. Glad I gave it a second listen
Where to even start with this...the new Lamb of God sound (if you can even call it that) just absolutely fucking rules. This album was an absolute dream to listen to. From the title track it just doesn't let up. Sepsis is easily the stand out track but my god do I have a soft spot for St Catherine's Wheel. It's the most hard left LOG you can have but it RULES
Give this a listen, it's my top album of the year so far and could very well be heard to beat
Managed to catch the OG tour of Alter Bridge, Daughtry and Sevendust live when it came through Glasgow. Every band blew the stage away but as always the headliner stole the show.
These songs live were tremendous and to be honest were made to be performed live. The album just doesn't live up to expectations. Silent Divide, the opening track and easily the best on the album showcases Alter Bridge in their entirety. Myles vocals on point and the rest of the band as solid as ever. My only ... read more
Seen many a discourse over this EP but as with everything Paleface, this is just another layer to their sound. Let Me Sleep is aggressive and in your face. Instrument of War adds the legends in STYG and is a fun, catchy sing-along especially in the chorus. It ends with Everything is Fine, an emotional and just absolutely heart wrenching track lyrically and musically. Outstanding once again from the Swiss boys.
Front to back one of the best albums of 2020. Better Days and Kill The Ache will forever be in my playlist rotation
