Pharrell Williams' only good contribution to this project would be in R.E.M., as for the rest, the make for the lows of the album, which makes the experience so much worse than it could have been.
Never thought I would love a musical soundtrack as much as this one! Has me on chokehold for months, and I still sing these songs at the top of my lungs, made me fall in love with the characters and the movie, can´t wait for part 2!
Crazy to be DECADES into your career and make an entire body of work in a genre so different from the ones she generally worked with along the years, this album has lots of topics, from motherhood to owning your sexuality, from her place in country music to the average texan going through life in a system that doesn't care from them. I love her for introducing country to so many people, including myself!!
The way she got into such personal issues and experiences all the while going through various genres such as pop, rock, country, even gospel, is truly the work of a mastermind. I love how she tells her story from Pray You Catch Me to All Night and ends the album with one of her most memorable songs ever. Formation is that girl, you just can't help but dance your butt off and yet it also delivers an empowering message, this deserved the AOTY grammy and even Adele acknowledges it.
I MEANNNN we all remember where we were, since I was a 15 year old brazilian that slept early, I wasnt awake at the 2 AM local time when this album came out, but I woke up at a FRENZY, tons of notifications being the first thing I saw as I woke up really made me took some minutes to understand what was going on.
