Grimes - Artificial Angels

Far better than anything that was released for the Book 1 rollout era (and i LOVE that album). The production is insane (although I do wish we had a bit of the reverb and electric guitar Miss Anthropocene style - but maybe that’s just cause it’s my favorite Grimes sound.)
Lyrics are witty and tongue-in-cheek. Very Grimes core.
The cover art is very interesting and ballsy lol, looking forward to this album.

If you try to listen to music without wanting to be the most pretentious music snob ever, you’ll find you enjoy your life and this album much more!

This is a fresh sound from her, I’m glad she’s working with Max Martin and Shellback again. Her writing is as diaristic and vivid as ever, paired with decades of training their melodic sensibilities, I find the best tracks to showcase that are Ophelia, Opalite, Showgirl and Father Figure. She sounds refreshingly self-aware.

I feel like she’s finally tapped into the sound that makes her interesting,(nails it on Saturn’s Return) but more than half the tracks fall flat. Cohesive but boring
