I don't really know what I just listened to, but it's pretty trippy and cool, so good job whoever made this I guess.
Albums like this one have been done a million times before, but Reflections has a lot of impressive breakdowns, superb instrumentation, and catchy choruses to the point where it makes what would be unremarkable very interesting and a worthwhile listen. The guitar work in this album especially is superb, and the only thing to complain about is the somewhat unoriginal songwriting, but that doesn't stop this album from great.

What was I thinking? I guess I've been longing for more songs like WIRED that are a bit more energetic and reminiscent of their earlier days, but this song has a really nice chill vibe that I definitely have warmed up to, it feels almost somewhat happy in a way (as far as Basement goes at least), and it's naught but a relaxing slacker rock song that has a very friendly vibe.
I've listened to this album like twice but keep accidentally deleting my track ratings so it just feels wrong to rate it without listening a third time.
Pretty heavy overall, but it's a bit too generic for my liking, and the trap elements take away from the emotions of the song. The screams though... wow.
Even with the catchy chorus, it doesn't have the same oomph the first song had, but goes hard regardless, with very good vocal and drum performances especially.
As a first introduction to this band, holy shit do they know what they're doing. Both songs hit incredibly hard with great breakdowns and insanely heavy instrumentation.
---Individual ratings---
Drag Me - 100/100 - An insanely heavy song that, as the first song I've listened to of the band, really gets me hyped for the album.
New Disease - 100/100 - The breakdowns here are insane, with crazy guitar and drum work that pairs very well with the vocals.
Let me be clear; I am not a fan of singer-songwriter (besides Noah Kahan but idk if that counts), I find it really boring, but this album does it well. I don't know what makes AOTY users make really good music, but this is another example of a great album by a user of this site. The bare bones instrumentals make it feel personal, especially when paired with the random interjections and laughing, and that gives it a very nice touch. Jake also has a nice voice.
The guitar work here is actually quite enjoyable, and this song is good for PRESIDENT's standards, but they need to ditch the weird pop and trap elements, that's the main shackle keeping them from being better. Ever since they dropped the horrible vocal effects though, they've taken off to new heights.
While this EP is the foundation for something good in the future, PRESIDENT's first EP is filled with a lot of predictable breakdowns, bad vocal effects, subpar mixing, and just a whole lot of mid overall. While it was tolerable, it's nothing worth relistening to.
As mid as PRESIDENT is, this song actually shows signs of vitality, with an adequate (although predictable) breakdown at the end and some good instrumentation, although the vocalist sounds like shit when he's not screaming.
Not horrible, but there is some room for improvement, as it's pretty generic and stale.
While this album does sound nice and does a great job at being very atmospheric and evoking a desolate, cold mood, it runs on for 37 minutes with almost no changes, so I feel like I just can't rate this highly. Condense it more and it'd be great.
