Unoriginal they are not, because regardless of whether or not these past few singles lead into any form of a larger project, just these 6 recent tracks from the group prove their unbelievable consistency and complete prowess in any style they touch. I mean, you just cannot tell me there is a single more exciting group in pop at the moment.
“Good job Quadiddy 😁😁👍👍 !!”
For months i was planning on simply letting this be a joke review but no, this is beyond impressive, i frankly was terrified this wouldn’t meet the almost unachievable expectations that were set upon us fans when Quadeca told us the very impressive mixtape that was Scrapyard were essentially b-side tracks, or the fact that this was a record meant to follow up the already genre breaking artistic breakthrough that was I Didn’t Mean ... read more
PEOPLE DONT LIKE THIS?? HEARING THIS IN THE CREDITS FELT LIKE I WAS ASCENDING AFTER ROTTING AWAY FOR 80 MINUTES ON THAT FUCK ASS GOD AWFUL MOVIE BRO WHAT
THIS IS WHAT IM FUCKING TALKING ABOUT THIS IS THE SHIT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR WOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Deserved best score win at the Oscars, what an incredible soundtrack.
this album gots boot scootin' boogie on it, that automatically makes it the GOAT
A more than solid sophomore record from the OKC band, but whilst consistent in quality it fails to take risks and push the boundaries their previous projects have.
With how genuinely great the first two tracks were, this record is beyond disappointing. The only reason the score is even above a 5 is from just how great the production is, cause god the hooks are awful all over this LP. Even then, still the second best album from the group so far.
I think Maruja is an extremely talented group, hell, they're possibly the best band in the world right now (March 2024).
So while that still shines through in spots through this earlier project, it's just incredibly messy. The title track is easily the strongest but it's still a bit sloppy, and the rest of the track list is fine, not bad just forgettable. Overall I agree with the general consensus that the new sound is for the best as this EP comes off incredibly generic for the most part.
There are some genuinely really cool moments here, unfortunately, the songs themselves dont quite match up to the potential.
While it doesn't follow common modern pop tropes, it oddly still feels like it's attempting to gain that mainstream attention, which ultimately limits most of the tracks on the project.
