It’s been a while since I last wrote a review of a record I’ve loved (more than a month ago, to be precise), and I’m actively trying to avoid writing it, since my thoughts can be needlessly wordy yet nuanced. I’ve enforced an unspoken rule to review only albums I believe are near-preeminent masterpieces that sonically push the boundaries so far that almost none of their adversaries can emulate. This album embodies that trait so strongly in my books.

Cocteau Twin's final album prior to their disbandment. I actually had quite low expectations going into this album given the uninspiring score comparatively being the 2nd lowest rated in their main catalogue. After listening to it I've come to compromise that I will never let a user score dictate my expectations going into an album. EVER!
