the production kicks ass. If mainstream hip hop jumped on this, it would be better

best: echo chamber
worst: idk can't really remember
I like this album, but i can't tell if it's because echo chamber either a) samples come and play in the milky way by stereolab b) interpolates come and play in the milky way by stereolab or c) is come and play in the milky way by stereolab. The rapping is good and crazy as per mc paul barman usual, and it's got a lot of super weird features.

the quintessential gorillaz album and for a while the quintessential danger mouse album. I've gone through this album song by song so many times that hearing it as one single unit feels strange. It's got everything that I liked as a gorillaz fan in middle school and it feels like a guilty pleasure being so far removed from it now. Still great, but not greatest

it took me maybe 13 years but i finally like the strokes. This is probably their best album even if the cover makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason

best: because im me/frankie sinatra
worst: sunshine
I really like the seamless flow between tracks and the plunderphonics sounds throughout the album. I love the features, specifically on frankie sinatra, and I love the absolutely wild beat that danny brown and mf doom rap over but...
its way too long and wears out its welcome earlier than i wanted it to. There are songs that gave me headaches but overall it's still pretty great

best: Run, run, run
worst: mezzanine trippin
A well made jazz rap album that just didn't hit for me nearly as much as I wanted it to. It's also the last album that got the chance to be written down in my book of literally everything I've listened to as of may 2021 so thats a fun little prize.

King Krule continues his trend of putting out sad art rock that shows off how good he is at songwriting. This might be his best work overall strictly for the vibe it creates

dirty projectors and bjork make a wonderful pair. It's a great acoustic album with some stellar vocal harmonies.
Reviewing this in almost fall really makes me remember that this is an A+ fall album

c0ncernn put out some of the best hyperpop of all time and then decided to put out some of the best music generally. The sample choices are some of the most gas ever.

This album encapsulates everything I like about Ricky Eat Acid. It's some of the best instrumental music i've ever heard

I found the cd for this in my parents collection and now it’s joined the prestigious company of the bonito generation cassette, the gorillaz debut, and a burned copy of in rainbows as permanent additions to my car. It’s a great example of east coast rap. It’s got shoutsouts to 80s new wave and all of the boroughs and also Jim carry’s the mask

It’s difficult for anything else to put me in quite the same vibe as Manners. I listened to it while partaking in some inebriated Minecraft and that really made it that much better. There’s nothing quite like shedding a tear to eyes as candles while dying to the same pitfall trap that you made for everyone else do die in. It’s a pinnacle of the indie pop era and a pinnacle of my childhood music taste. I’ve listened to the cover of dreams so many ... read more
