man, this is disappointing (if not a bit expected).

smithereens isn't without its highlights (including singles glimpse of us and yukon (interlude) and new tracks like the beautiful die for you and before the day is over). the biggest problem with smithereens is that, despite only being 9 songs long, it still has filler tracks like dissolve and BLAHBLAHBLAH DEMO which are both frankly boring and drag the album down. joji has had filler before, with nectar seriously struggling with it, but it's ... read more

pretty disappointing ngl - the singles were so great but the full album all just blends together and feels too safe and basic to be anything special.

in three words; disappointing but expected

i've always had a soft spot for zuckers music. yeah, his lyrics often feel like they were written by a 'heartbroken' 14 year old and are way too on the nose for me but i found his music when i was in a really tough time and his production/vocals are usually quite enjoyable, at least for me. love is not dying is when of my favourite albums because of this. i've definelty heard better but it holds a very personal place in my heart and i love it to ... read more
