What an amazing return to form...
After 13 years of silence, Boards of Canada manages to excel any expectations I had set for them. This whole album is like a movie, so cinematically produced. That run from 'Deep Time' and onwards is absolutely amazing. I knew they would come back strong, but this is just special.
Production was just insane, obviously. I loved how much he went out the box, but I didn't like this overly high pitched voice he was doing on some songs, like there was a filter on it or something. The second half was a lot stronger than the first half since most of the first half was straight edm. I definitely need a relisten.
Despite losing their lead vocalist, they still deliver a great album.
