If I’m being honest i probably wouldn’t have checked this out if it wasn’t pglang but I'm glad i did because this is a very solid R&B album. Its a little sleepy at times but Imani has a beautiful voice and the production is consistent so if this is a debut I’m excited for her future.
Went in with high expectations and I’m still kinda blown away. It’s so awesome to see an artist find themselves like this on what’s his first real album. Fakemink Summer is here.
Sometimes I have this issue where I feel like I need to express myself to relive some kind of stress or issue but I don’t because I don’t feel I’m talented enough for it to matter. Unfortunately, this album knows what I’m talking about.
The Pop New Testament is here
YESSSSSSS GOD
Edit: lol got into a car crash this morning listening to this but who gives a fuck we upppppp
Stevie Wonder has more love in the tip of his finger than most people do in their entire bodies. When I say love, I don't just mean romantic love, I mean reverence and appreciation for every single experience and person life has to offer. For a prime example of this love, look to his 1976 progressive soul masterpiece “Songs in the Key of Life”, which combines soul, R&B and pop music in a masterful fashion in order to fully express the love that Stevie feels. Unreal amounts of fun how did she just decide to do pop one day and master the genre in a single album
Pretty cool album. Kinda surprised Jack went in the lo-fi R&B direction but it fits his voice well so I’m not complaining. Nothing crazy but a nice listen.
Just got waitlisted at my dream school so this album is officially the best thing to happen to me today
Listened this for the first time ever today and found out it’s the 53rd anniversary what a crazy coincidence. Aside from that this album deserves all the praise it gets just insane that something this modern could come out in 1973
Been so long we just calling him Keem now.
This is kinda just doing what Melodic Blue did, just a lot better an more mature. I feel like that kinda takes away because this album does have a lot of emotional depth from Keem, but what can I say Keem makes bangers on bangers and here we got another heater from americas favorite cousin.
If you take the 10 best tracks from this album it’s easily Cole’s best but that length is just brutal like don’t get me wrong I think J Cole is an amazing rapper but hearing 40 songs in a row about how he couldn’t do any of this without the support of the Ville imma lose it. He might be the first person every to be prideful about coming from North Carolina.
This might be a crazy take but Don is one of the most consistent out rn. Can always count on him to deliver and even though this didn’t work as well as hard stone for me (probably because I don’t love the reverb rnb that much) its still really great and also the best thing to come out of Cactus Jack since Hardstone. Jesus that label is a shithole.
