The Foo Begins..
Foo Fighters was originally a one-man solo project led by Dave Grohl as we've all heard a bunch of times whenever this album specifically is mentioned but it's still really fascinating at the sheer talent and potential this album showcases alone. This album definitely grew off me a bit but for the most part, I still really like it! Songs like Exhausted, I'll Stick Around, Big Me, and X-Static are just full of brilliance and it's a solid debut for my favorite ... read more
Legendary
Alice in Chains release again in 1992 but with their sophomore album and.. it's easily one of the best and most important in the entirety of the grunge subgenre. I truly admire this album for just staying so consistent especially with songs like Rooster, Would, Them Bones, and Sickman. Genuinely such a top tier album it's crazy how this isn't even their best work, absolute enjoyed listening to this and excited to hear more from the band
Honestly, pretty underrated!
Alice in Chains release Sap right before Dirt in the same year and.. it's pretty good! I enjoyed the more acoustic style they took on this as well as the guest appearances with Ann Wilson from Heart being on both Brother and Am I Inside, as well as Chris Cornell and Mark Arm from Mudhoney & Green River (2 absolute Grunge legends) being on Right Turn. Overall it's a solidly built EP and it's strange how these songs aren't talked about more, ... read more
The best Soundgarden album so far, vast improvement from previously
Soundgarden amped up their sound 10x on this one, and improved the quality of their music as a whole, after being a bit above average of a band, they definitely proved they're worth the hype they had in Seattle at the time with their third album and some timeless songs like Rusty Cage, Outshined, and Room A Thousand Years Wide. Honestly love Chris' vocals so much, easily the best vocalist of the grunge era and the ... read more
What else is there to say?
Nevermind has been my favorite album for nearly 3 years, and I don't expect it to ever change. I love it truly more than anything music wise, it's changed my entire perspective on music and everything I thought about it originally. Nevermind is just so beautifully made with simple melodies and simple chords, really just a simplistic album overall but the energy is just crazy. Nirvana really burst onto the mainstream with such a beautiful album as well as ... read more
