Angelo Badalamenti & David Lynch - David Lynch's Mulholland Dr.
90

Of course the soundtrack couldn’t have been anything less than spectacular when we’re talking about one of the greatest feature films of the 21st century!

TOMORA - COME CLOSER
85

THIS IS FUCKING INSANE. Aurora and Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers releasing such a strong electronic record with several trip hop influences on a random friday in a month of not so many exciting releases caught so off guard but i’m more than happy to be here! COME CLOSER has some weaker points but the songs that hit, hit really hard instrumentally. The flow of it, all of the transitions between songs are incredible, and this being Aurora’s direction for herself after the ... read more

Olivia Rodrigo - drop dead
82

Expected a little more from a lead single for Olivia’s third album but I can’t lie, that bridge is a banger !!!

青葉市子 [Ichiko Aoba] - 15th Anniversary Concert
91

I feel like i’ve never really known music - ethereal serene music and this otherworldly contemporary folk specifically - before I started listening to Ichiko Aoba! She cannot stop fascinating me. I’m very much thrilled to now listen to the rest of her early stuff because some of the tracks (unknown to me so far) performed on this live recording had me in an awe, they all sound spectacular! Almost all of the additions from Anmi Yamada were my absolute highlights, I adore them as a ... read more

Gorillaz - The Mountain
85

First full Gorillaz record and I can already see that Damon Albarn and the rest of the band have endless layers of creativity. I love how lush, simple yet effective and occasionally messy (in a good way) most of The Mountain feels. It is ambitious, multicultural and excitingly conceptual!

the final instalment in the Kick Series being an ambient impressionist album wasn’t what i was expecting at all, but i’m so glad that it happened

Kelela - idea 1
100

wow, it’s perfect! and while you could say the same about any of her projects, i just have to say it once again regarding this new project: she finally found her sound and the entire album is going to be insane!!!!

underscores - U
84

This year is for the electropop genre I love to see that! But while U is most definitely a highlight of this current phenomenon, and obviously a great fucking album, it didn’t grab me as much as I hoped it would. I had this familiar unexplainable issue with underscores before, and I promise i will try to give it another chance in the near future because either way I find her to be very intriguing as an artist!

Diamanda Galás - Plague Mass
88

The spoken word can be one of the most powerful genres in music when done well and i stand by it!

Ethel Cain - Preacher's Daughter
100

A masterpiece of a musical storytelling! An album of a lifetime! Easiest 10 I've ever given! (i do plan to write an actual review sometime soon because it's still one the most important albums of my life)

hemlocke springs - going...going...GONE!
80

once again, the future of pop herself

Porter Robinson - Nurture
100

fucking give me a break, there's not a single track on Nurture that i haven't enjoyed in its own way, it just kept getting better and better, i was actually transcending and lost in it! can't even put all of my thoughts together, i just know that it is so major and insanely good, if you love indietronica or electropop i beg you listen to this album!

Weyes Blood - And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow
87

GOD TURN ME INTO A FLOOO-🌬️✨wer💫🐚🌊mm🪽🌸

Weyes Blood - Front Row Seat to Earth
86

I kept putting off this Weyes Blood release so much I almost totally forgot that’s there’s A WHOLE WEYES BLOOD RECORD out there that i haven’t listened to yet. I’m not sure why I was so sceptical (or was i really), because Front Row Seat to Earth might just be a very close candidate (tied with …Hearts Aglow) for the place of my second favourite Weyes album, right after the magnificent Titanic Rising, of course! Cardamom Times EP is now the only project of hers I ... read more

Lana Del Rey - Lana Del Ray A.K.A. Lizzy Grant
71

It’s unfortunate that A.K.A. Lizzy Grant isn’t full of hidden gems like Kill Kilk or Pawn Shop Blues, and instead, also consists of songs like Brite Lites or Smarty… Still a highly intriguing project to check out while discovering the origins of Lana’s later iconic sound!

平沢進 [Susumu Hirasawa] - Siren
94

STRAIGHT UP SPECTACULAR, I CANT PRAISE SUSUMU HIRASAWA ENOUGH

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
97

Could life get possibly any better than while listening to this joyful, skipless masterpiece? I honestly don’t think so

Harry Styles - Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.
68

Barely any disco found here, but that’s okay, the album makes up for it with occasional great production choices, some of the best ones of harry’s discography, but then again falls off a bit when it comes to his general presence, charisma and vocals!

hemlocke springs - the apple tree under the sea
87

Hemlocke Springs - a breath of the freshest air in current pop music, she’s been that for while now and her debut album is just an even more detailed showcase of that! My expectations for this project weren’t perfectly high, but ever since the day it was announced I HOPED it would somehow turn out to be a great, charismatic project; and oh man, did it absolutely exceed my expectations.. Such an interesting and truly exciting take on synth-pop, with nothing less than fantastic ... read more
