i mean it is a good record. to me it feels like aaron left ween to make a more boring, watered down ween album. negatives out of the way, it is a very pretty album and clearly one aaron needed to make, the songs are enjoyable, my only gripe is that it just feels half baked missing mickey idk. but aaron made freeman for him and he really speaks about that on the album and it shows how therapeutic that is for him. this is gene weens very own “mccartney” album. hope to see ween record ... read more
i genuinely dare to call this one underrated. this album has some of dylans highest highs and it is consistently a wonderful listen. i feel like this one is often overshadowed by highway 61 but id say i prefer this one quite a bit
kinda nails the entire album, some tracks i prefer the live version whereas i think some loose some charm from being live and lacking the brown sound, especially without voice effects and stuff. id say its on an even playing field with the non live version of this album
its pretty good, i cant say it blew me away or anything though unfortunately, its mostly worth the listen to see what cameron winter was making at 16. you can definitely see some blueprints for what he could make later on but this in itself doesnt do too much crazy. its pretty basic indie rock with some pretty alright lyricism. winter hadnt found his sound yet here so its lacking his distinctive vocal style- the first track is probably the biggest offender here as you cant really tell its him ... read more
