Dropping this right after breaking up Black Midi is insane work, Greeping so hard rn π£οΈ
Sounds really good and holy holy is goated btw
It’s really solid music, indie rock with great vocals and very consistent melodies. Tone and production are crisp, love to hear it :)
Shoutout to all the backseat loversπ£οΈ
It’s a story! Full on narrative that’s kinda exciting, good climax. Feel the instrumentals could’ve gone more crazy but it wasn’t too boring. Pales in comparison to other stuff they’ve made but it’s not bad.
Considering this was (partially) made 24 years ago, for the genre, I think its well made. There are some kinda rotting feelings that come from listening to this. This is probably the earliest lofi which I've listened to by far and I think it catches the genre well.
The R>O>T versions are actually really cool and I like how it's all at the end of the album, making for a good end.
I had no idea what to expect from an album called D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L and ... read more
Kinda goes back and forth with this relationship which is, as the title suggests, now closed. A nice listen π
The feelings that come from this album were something I was not expecting, lots of emotion and such a great experience. I listened to this on a road trip and now match this album with looking at windmills, which fits really well lmao
I π Nurture become a Nurture fan NOW!
Songs off this are just so iconic, and consistent. Got to see him live just recently and that helped me really appreciate the album. I do want to read into it to further understand some lyrics because there's definitely something more. He's extremely talented, fun to listen to.
Yeah this is really good, his first album! :D Vocals are great here, also nice anticipating it with the singles. He's grown a lot from his beginnings that I've checked out and it's great to see.
ITS SO GOOD LISTEN AHHHHHHHHHH I was here for the release and was NOT disappointed. I love every song on this (while I do think Chukou is weaker), and think its his best work. Insanely talented.
The more I try to figure out how the music works the more confused I get geez it's well crafted, how tf do they play this lmao
My mind is fuzzy, it's so fun. Psych goes insane on this and I love their slow jams sm, they're spacey and just kinda make me levitate. Not to mention the fast music is consistent and really gets in your mind. Really great sound on this!
I get that it's not typical Gizz style but geez this album is really well produced and I think underrated. Let's all go to Shanghai π£
Now I'm not familiar with "R&B" (if you want to call this album that), but it wasn't bad. One thing I realized when talking to my sister about it was that nothing really stood out on the album. It's good background music, and geez did it have a few hits in Better and Talk. Chill vibes nonetheless.
A 10 might be generous, but like... it was produced was it not? Yes, it sucked, but making music is hard I guess? I might be overexaggerating how terrible it was and I honestly don't remember too much off the album because it just felt so lifeless. I got nothing except from a few laughs in a VC with friends as we listened to it together over American Truck Sim, so that's something lmao
I don't want to listen to another AJR album
Ooooh Valencia... the start of the JMPB discog on Spotify at least. The production quality is rather weak which is to be expected for an indie band like this, but it does well in introducing the sort of sound they are going for. This album definitely plants a seed for a band that has sprouted since. I just hope they get the recognition they deserve.
