Shotgun Willy is one of those artists you find randomly, then get obsessed with their music for a few weeks, then forget about them. But for what it is, Bombs Away is a bop. The use of brass in many of the songs is great, it fits what the album's going for perfectly.
It doesnt try to be deep or groundbreaking, but it knows its purpose and sticks to it. The energy is fun, the beats are fun, and it all comes together in a way that makes it hard not to enjoy. Its the kind of project you ... read more
Call Me If You Get Lost is a good album, it really is. Tyler shows he can still rap his ass off, the production is clean, and the confidence is there. But it didn’t hit as hard as I expected it to. Coming off the artistry of IGOR, this just feels like a step back. Not bad, just a downgrade.
The addition of DJ Drama is always a good move because it adds hype and excitement. But here, it takes away from the lyrics and distracts more than it adds. Tyler’s still proving he’s in a ... read more
Goblin is messy, raw, and sometimes uncomfortable, and that is exactly the point. Tyler uses this album to show how he is different from everyone else. Pushing boundaries is his thing, and that is something I really respect. The abrasive and unfiltered lyrics are not always easy to sit through, but they are honest, and they are completely his.
The album is framed as a therapy session between Tyler and a fictional therapist named Dr. TC. It plays out like a dialogue, where Tyler rants and ... read more
Wow. IGOR is hands down Tyler’s best produced album, and honestly, imo, his best overall. It feels like a full journey, packed with emotion, tension, and some of his most creative songwriting yet. Tracks like Are We Still Friends?, New Magic Wand, and Earfquake don’t just stand out, they hit every. single. time. The way he blends genres and builds this whole world is insane. Tyler’s in a league of his own with this one. Easy 10/10.
Such a good album. LP! is JPEGMAFIA fully raw, loud, and doing whatever he wants. The production’s all over the place in the best way, and somehow every track still clicks. His lyrics hit without feeling forced, and the switch ups keep it fresh all the way through. One second it’s glitchy rap, next it’s smooth as hell. Nobody else is doing it like this. 9/10.
