The album that changed the way I listen to music, and still to this day one of my all-time favorites, although I do think that the Bungle boys would go on to do even better stuff than this on Disco Volante and California. Out of all of The Residents' massive discography, this album, their debut, is the project I find myself returning to the most often these days. With its lo-fi production (even by Residents standards), the entire thing gives off an eerie, yet at the same time oddly comforting atmosphere. The whole concept behind this project is taking popular songs of the time, and deconstructing them to a point where they're entirely unrecognizable, a practice the group would continue for their later work.
