I've always been a big proponent of opening songs.
I feel like most of my favourite songs are the first track off an album.
This is one of my favourites of ALL TIME and a great singalong song too! ;)

My feelings on this album is a testament to how much my time to listening and exploring has matured my taste and expanded my perspective on music. Sometimes to “get it” you just gotta wait and keep looking.
In 1000 hurts, there is a decrease in agressiveness and more focus on variety and catchyness. At its best, it features a high concentration of some of the band's very best songs: Squirrel song, Song against Itself and of course Prayer to God, in my opinion their best song ever. The rest of the tracklist, though, is mostly made up of average Shellac songs: really good on the ears, but not really memorable on their own, with New Number Order and QRJ being especially whatever.

Strangely enough this album is at it's most instrumentally interesting during Albini's hate spew towards his ex-girlfriend.
