So god damn good. Definitely one of the most influential and boundary pushing albums of the 60s. Lots of classic songs here along with some very very cool Noise/Experimental Rock songs. Great album:)
The first gizzard album where they really show their technical skills, and they sure as hell are great at their instruments. I don't entirely get the hype for this album, but I still enjoyed it. Definitely more proggy than their other stuff. I might need to relisten to it though.
No vocals, but it's still a great album. The saxes sound insane at times, and I definitely liked this album a lot. Great :)
The first track is insane. So much technicality yet it's still super lush feeling. The other two tracks were also good, but nowhere near the first.
Ok so although I like their older, more sludgy and noisy stuff more, this was a very good record. Some very beautiful moments here along with some very cool noisier parts. I love the americana influences a lot too, and it balances the post rock with the sludge metal and noise rock in a very cool way.
Pretty cool! Jazzy and kinda funky at parts. Favorite track: idk probably D-Day. The vocals were pretty cool, and Mild High Club did a pretty good job on this album. Not King Gizzard's best though, far from it. Some kinda cool and fun microtonal moments snuck in here and there too.
It starts off pretty solid, I liked the first few songs (they reminded me of bladee a lot and I love bladee). But then it started to get pretty bad. Rust, Di Qiu and Something were all pretty cool songs but oh god, after New it turned into a downward spiral. Li Bu Kai is a terrible fucking song, it genuinely feels like a joke 😭 I'm sorry but this album is not good bro. The production is fine for the most part, but oh man are the vocals annoying at some points. I'm not a hater of ... read more
wow...just wow. What the heck man. Amazing musicianship with some very strange time signatures combined with the weirdest story I've heard told through a concept album so far. Insane ending too. I won't spoil the story, you just have to listen to it yourself bro. This album is just insane.
Holy fuck was this close to being a 100, god damn is this album good. Amazingly dense Death Metal combined with a lot of technicality, and it's surprisingly progressive too with some more melodic and clean parts (which isn't a bad thing at all, the opposite actually. I am a sucker for sci-fi death metal and this might just be the best album (and band) in that category. I love the synth parts too, very spacey. Amazing album, god damn!
Really god damn strong. They made microtonality, a pretty inaccessible concept very enjoyable for pretty much anyone. I love the usage of the makam integrated into this album. Rattlesnake will forever be a banger and the rest of the songs are great too. I love the title track as well, very mysterious-sounding. Awesome album :)
Holy fuck was this a 180 from Paper Mâché. This album is just incredible. Banger after banger. This is King Gizzard's take on garage rock at its absolute peak. I have probably said this for every King Gizzard album that I liked, but this album is so god damn fun start to finish. I love the reoccuring melodies that appear here and then and the iconic "Nonagon Infinity opens the door, Nonagon Infinity opens the door, waiting for the answer to open the door, Nonagon Infinity ... read more
I have no fucking idea why I used to dislike this album. It's not a favorite of mine but like...how did I think this was bad? This is a great early prog rock album and it's one of the most iconic debuts ever. My favorite track is without a doubt 21st century schizoid man, but I like the others a lot too. Great album and very deserved of the praise it gets :)
Breakcore masterpiece. So god damn heavy and aggressive and noisy. You pretty much can't get better than this except for with rossz. Listen to this NOW!! Some of the best god damn breaks ever are present here. There's nothing I can dislike about this album.
I mean it's pretty good and pretty fun to listen to, but I don't really get why other fans of king gizzard like this so much. Either way, I enjoyed their take on completely acoustic music. Kinda folky, I fw it :)
Another great release from King Giz. Quarters is a kinda psychadelic Jazz-Rock-y album with a pretty cool concept. Every song is exactly 10 minutes and 11 seconds, which means that when you've listened to one song you've finished one quarter, then you listeon to the next song and you've finished half of the album and so on. Yeah I like this album, idk what else to say. Better than oddments I guess
This is around the period when King Gizzard truly started to become a great band. This album is very psychedelic but still so fun. In the first half it's basically just like one big song (which is one very good song). Then it starts to tone down a little and we get some pretty chill psych rock. Definitely gonna revisit this in the future, very fun :)
This was pretty fun. I liked the indian vibes this had but some songs were kinda boring. Not bad though, and I'm excited to see what this band has in store next.
