Wow, this is some gorgeous blackgaze. This album gets pretty strange at times, but it doesn't make it worse. The guitar tones here are very cool.
Edit: Holy fuck, I was such an idiot when I wrote my review of this. After a relisten, I can 100% determine that this is a masterpiece.
Original review: Great jazz fusion and all, but at the same time some of the synths are just kind-of odd, and not in a cool and experimental way. Still though, I can't talk too much shit on this album because it's absolutely not bad. In fact, sly is one of my favorite jazz/jazz fusion songs I've heard. Chameleon is the song that most people seem ... read more
So near to being perfect if it weren't for the last song which kinda drags. But otherwise, this stuff is fucking fire. So god damn crushing and noisy and oppressive and just pure evil. The atmosphere is insane and it's for sure one of the heaviest albums I've ever heard. This fucking album cover too man, it's insane. The album cover looks exactly like how the album sounds; it's gritty, it's vile, it's dark and it's disturbing. This vocalist is insane too ... read more
This was a very strange album I'm not gonna lie. Not quite my taste, but I can definitely see the appeal. The long ass solos are absolute cinema though, I won't deny that
This feels much more funky than jazzy. Either way this is straight fire. Love the album cover too lmao
I used to have a beagle, this album reminds me so much of that dude.
to the 2 people who rated this a 2 and a 3, you guys hate fun
I definitely enjoyed it but it wasn't outstanding for me. The keyboards were sick, and the trumpet was pretty damn cool but man do i wish the drums were less minimal.
I really wanna get into jazz fusion and some chud requested this to me, I'll 100% listen to more of this stuff
why did i do this to myself (the brostep song was a banger though)
This album is the most heartbreaking and crushing album I've ever heard. This is a very hard listen, and no review will truly do it justice.
I don't even know how to describe this stuff. It's so strange and abstract yet so good. I can't really tell what's going on, but I do like it! First time I've ever actively enjoyed listening to sounds faster than a microsecond and extremely high frequency sine waves for 55 minutes.
It's good, but not excellent. Probably the strangest autechre record I've heard so far though, it feels very very minimal compared to the other ones.
