This is my first go-around with Florence, and let me tell you I am ashamed to admit that. She is one of the best leaders, singers, song creators, whatever label you want to give, I have ever seen. Her voice is angelic, yet harrowing when need be. The tenderness of her voice filling your ears, leading into a huge belt of a quick, or slightly drawn out note. Every song has a clear message or meaning, and they aren't lost on me. I have found my new go-to album.
Incredibly ambitious, introspective, storybook led music that simply can't be produced and polished better. A story of a man sinking, losing his life, and miraculously reaching the shore to continue on his journey. Fantastic project.
On the date of June 28, the year of our Lord 2024, Lupe Fiasco dropped the album of the year. Every track is in your face, whether it be the beat, or Lupe's rapping. A nice, easy 8 track record coming in at only an half hour, but the half hour feels like 5 minutes as you're listening. I don't consider myself a "fan" of Lupe, but this record made me one. Samurai is modern hip hop/rap at its finest. LUPE FIASCO made this, yes, LUPE FIASCO.

Vince Staples' Dark Times truly shows that Vince Staples is going through some dark times. All jokes aside, I'm 3 listens deep into this album and this is my final score, I had to contemplate and relisten to find how I feel about the songs musically. Artistically, and story wise, Vince is struggling, and he knocks the theme out of the park. Every song has incredibly smooth, laid back vocals, a good variety of flows and cadences stacked throughout. Great album again from Mr. Staples.

Now THIS is true boom-bap, east coast hip hop. Most fun I’ve had with a hip hop album in a very, very long time. Bars after bars after bars, with incredibly smooth flows. No song feels like the one you just heard. Being a massive fan of everything John Cena has ever done, JOHN CENA is one of my favorite songs ever, wish I could give it more than a 100. The record never gets stale or out of touch of the sound they were going for, MAYBE except for INTERMISSION 2. Holy cow what an album. My ... read more
