Such a consistent tracklist. This album knows what it does, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. The beat selection on this is immaculate, and Westside Gunn sounds as hungry as ever. The features are all great

very much a mixed bag. Offset was always my favourite of the Migos. His flows have the most potential, and he executes this on many songs. Offset is at his best when he's just trying to flow the best that he can on this. The beat selection is also crucial, and luckily, he did pretty well on this. It's not too generic but remains a mainstream hip hop release. Duds are to be expected.

Although very cozy, this album just can't move me. The songs sound a bit undercooked and don't live up to what I feel they could be. Vocally, I thought it to be underwhelming compared to highlights from earlier in his career.

Pretty bland indie pop. Some tracks are good, but overall, I feel like lyrically, not enough is happening to keep me hooked. I also think that instrumentally, it was just too laid back and effortless. The highlights on here are catchier and have more going on, where I don't find myself wanting to change the album.

I think the main thing Laufey struggles with is that she's a bit of a one-trick pony. Her albums can sometimes feel a bit drawn out due to some songs sounding a bit samey. I think she does a solid effort of alleviating this problem on this one. It's consistently enjoyable and has some of my favourite songs of hers. I do wish she tapped into more varied vocal ranges, though.
Fav Tracks: Lover Girl, Carousel, Sabotage

They still got it. their first drop in five years, and it sounds as great as it did decades ago. The soul and passion that were in their music are back after an underwhelming release in 2020. The record is consistent and heavy, and an overall enjoyable listen.

This is Audi going in a radio pop direction, and I do not like it. I feel like Cudi has so much potential vocally to explore much more interesting soundscapes. The songs felt pretty uninspired and bland, especially for Cudi's standard. I like some of the pop-oriented things he's done, but this was not his forte.

Why does Unc have to use AI on the music videos :( I think this record is good and is one of Ghostface's best albums in a while, but I still don't understand why it is a successor to one of the greatest rap albums of all time. Regardless of all that, the storytelling is great as it usually is with Ghostface Killah. The beat selection could be polished as per usual with Uncs.
Fav Tracks: Georgy Porgy, Love Me Anymore, Metaphysics

Earl delivers one of his best works nearly 15 years into his career. The lyricism is mature and incredibly personal. The beats are smooth and soulful as per usual for Earl, but this time, I feel like they are especially nostalgic. Although the record is extremely consistent, the final leg shines and has some of Earl's strongest material from his entire discography.

Apparently, this album is controversial because of the black country new road comparison, but I think they did well. The vocals are emotionally charged, and the instrumentation is consistently beautiful. I feel like they could've done a bit more, as the style and structure of tracks are really similar to BCNR, but what they gave is great.

Although I only gave this album a listen because of the black thought feature, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a pleasant batch of jazz songs that I wasn't expecting Juicy J to release. The vocal performances he has on some tracks are also great. Basically, I came for black thought and stayed for Juicy J.

This album is a successful comeback for Chance. Starting the rollout in 2021 probably wasn't the best idea due to the expectations he put on himself. I think Chance succeeded with this album, although the tracklist is very messy. The record starts off really strong but falls off in the middle leg. I hope Chance can deliver a more coherent project next drop since the expectations have been partially lifted.

The duo has improved in almost every way since the last LP. I love their efforts on the more melodic and slow tracks, but their bangers are truly where they shine. The energy they bring to the table is unlike any other in the genre. The lyrics they bring are free and hard-hitting. They are very in your face, which is the best thing about them.
Fav Tracks: SEE U DANCE, WASSUP, DISCO TOMORROW

just a solid house record. It's consistently groovy with its simple melodies. sounds like you are moving in a chill lounge trying to find your friends, if that makes sense. But yeah, cool.

This album is absolute perfection. Ethel's voice and delivery on some of these tracks are soul-crushing. The songs are long and slow burners, but the payoffs are beyond worth it. The interludes/instrumental cuts are a nice change of pace and carry the soundscape of the album by setting the mood. out of the 10 tracks, seven of them are lyrical, and they feel calculated and carry the themes and concept of the album forward so well. Despite its 75+ minutes runtime, the album feels short and ... read more
I love the dance vibes and beats, but unfortunately, I can't get past Amaarae's voice. It's way too high-pitched and breathy. Her flow is often not as smooth as I'd like. This makes it extremely hard for me to enjoy the album.
Fav Track: Kiss Me Thru The Phone pt 2

Holy missed production. I listened to the lead single and thought we were in for something special, but unfortunately, it's nothing special. It's extremely short, and apart from the single, none of the songs have that DJ Premier charm. I might be underrating it due to my expectation, but oh well...

Some of the most fun dance music of the year. This album is very Y2K coded, and I love the sequencing on this. It feels very uniform, but not to the point where it gets redundant or old. It's a very refreshing listen, and it just puts you in a good mood. The glitchiness in the production just adds to the whole charm of the album

JID has finally dropped his new album, and it was worth the wait. The consistency with which he can output quality music is impressive. His flow seems calculated and glides along the beat in a way only he can. hes the king of alliteration in rap. The more R&B direction he attempted in the middle leg of the album holds it back a little bit, in my opinion. I think JID can do well in those tracks. I just think the execution was a bit messy. The outro is a lock as a top 5 song of the year for ... read more
