The debut album of the drill legend Chief Keef... obviously it was gonna be great.
Sosa knows how to make bangers, and that's about all this album is. Banger after banger after banger. The energy never stops, and you remain gassed up and hyped from start to finish. The beats go super hard, especially Young Chop produced ones. Chief Keef himself lays down some powerful and catchy hooks, and doesn't disappoint with his verses either. Only ''Laughin' To The ... read more
A short and simple EP that I find highly enjoyable. The melancholy beats are good, the autotune heavy vocals sound great and the flows are quite catchy. I again like how Peep and Tracy have different voices, Peep's being higher and Tracy's being lower. It adds an extra layer of fun to the tracks and stops them from getting vocally boring. The lyrics are fine, there's maybe a few cliche emo rap lines that feel a bit awkward, but those don't stop me from enjoying the songs. ... read more
Should've known this was good from the fact that Whitearmor has production credits on every song :D.
''Eversince'' is a very focused album. Every song has this cold feeling to it, so icy and dark. The album deals with depression and feelings of isolation, so it's a pretty fitting vibe to have. The deadpan delivery Bladee has on most songs also fits the subjects very well, and the lyrics are very interesting to listen to and think about. There are some livelier ... read more
Megan comes back for a second round of spitting bars with a load of confidence. There's really not a lot to say about these songs that hasn't already been said about her previous work. Megan is confident and bossy from flows to the writing, beats are generally pretty good, and there's the occasional forgettable track. ''TYG'' and ''Fell In Love'' are a bit different though. The first one is a more aggressive song with metal band Spiritbox, ... read more
I love this, BMG went back to his ''YAMUDAA'' sound, with melodic rapping over these dark, spacey beats, everything laced with a good dose of distortion. I think the production sounds very nice, Bruhmanegod uses a good variety of different vocal deliveries, and even the writing is interesting to me. The standout moment here is easily ''C DA LIGHT'', with the everything being at it's best from the beat to the vocals. It feels like an updated version ... read more
Goddamn does this thing go hard. First off, the production bangs like crazy, with every beat slapping like people in those slapping competitions do. Chief Keef himself also does a very good job at keeping the energy high with his wild, punchy delivery. I would like for him to have more variety in his flows though. Very often here you'll have a song with a catchy chorus, but Chief Sosa continues the same flow with the next verse, which a bit boring and lazy. It's not a huge deal, but ... read more
I hope these allegations are false...
Anyway, the production here is fantastic. It feels so bright and hyper and all over the place, but not afraid to sound a bit sinister like on ''pretty boy'' or ''EYE4NEYE''. The beats completely steal the spotlight on a few songs, though wells' vocals aren't bad either. I like how void and frail wells' voice can sound, but still it manages to not drown in the chaos of some of these beats. ... read more
The reason I am here reviewing this album is because ''Night Drive'' was in the 2006 Cars video game, and it was heat even back then.
I didn't really expect I would enjoy this so much, but I did. The singing is very powerful, same with the production. The hooks are for the most part memorable, due to the melodies being so catchy. ''Stab My Back'' and ''It Ends Tonight'' have really nice hooks that I find myself singing from time ... read more
12 tracks of your average ISSBROKIE trap metal. Nothing too interesting, but it does go hard. The production could've been more interesting, I'm not a fan of Buckx2's production, a lot of his beats feels very samey, which ends up weakening the impact they have and how hard they hit. BROKIE just sounds like Lil Darkie. Yes it's a cliche comparison, but an accurate one. Besides some certain bars, she's not too different to him when it comes to this project. That's ... read more
BLCKK has always been a bit of a hit or miss artist for me, and sadly this didn't hit. Many of the harder bangers just kind of go right through me, not leaving any impression at all. That's mostly due to BLCKK's voice, and how he really only switches between two deliveries. Neither of them is specially strong, and the vocals start feeling more bland with every song. ''CARTRIDGE'' is one of the best songs here mainly thanks to the more powerful mixing on the ... read more
A really solid album from Latto. I was a bit afraid that the length would be a problem for me, but it wasn't. Every track keeps some level of quality, and all of them are memorable in some way. For the first half of the album, it's the hooks. Most of them are catchy enough to stick in my head, best examples being on ''Blick Sum'', ''Shrimp & Grits'' and ''Brokey''. The verses on these songs however aren't always too ... read more
Pretty good compilation of old singles. The hooks are pretty catchy, the writing is cool, and the beats go hard as always. ''Silencer'' is a bit less memorable for me compared to the other tracks, but not by much. Ghost Mountain kills it with his verses on ''Flowers'' and ''World's A Fuck'', and puts a nice hook on ''The Wagoner'', and Sematary does the same with every hook he does, and also his verse on ... read more
Ski Mask still has some great flows and witty bars on here, but the tone of the album is more serious than what I was expecting and hoping for. When it comes to Ski, his main appeal to me is how funny and goofy his music can be, kind of like a cartoon character. His deliveries could be very silly, and his flow felt very energetic and animated, smooth too. His songs had a care-free attitude that really grabbed me. On here though, both his voice and the production sounds very serious most of the ... read more
I'm not a 100% sure about this rating, guess I'll have to come back if this album grows on me.
This is definitely one of MKULTRA's most interesting albums. The sound and production is super experimental, and the writing tells a story that I haven't really been able to understand much, but have still found very entertaining and special. The songs themselves are a mixed bag however, especially in the first half. The deliveries used in ''Industrial Justin ... read more
Pretty much suffers from the same weakpoints as her previous EP, forgettable production and bland melodies. Kodie's voice is nice, but she doesn't do much with it. On ''Pull The Car Around'' we get something a little more lively, but the other songs lack that energy. Doesn't help that the beats are super calm already, making some tracks have no impact what so ever. But what truly makes this EP forgettable are the melodies and hooks, that just aren't ... read more
Again, feels like I've heard these guys somewhere before :D.
Really fun rap music, that's all that this is. Can't listen to this without a smile on my face, rapping along to the catchy hooks and repeating the funny lines. The nice production and some really smooth flows help to make this tape that much more memorable. I prefer the more turnt up songs like ''TALKING THAT SMACK'' and ''SWAGFUNKIN''' over the chiller tracks like ... read more
I finally got it, a new mesq album <3. This is everything I have ever loved about him. His cool vocals that switch between soft and energetic, his catchy melodies that get stuck in my head, the sort of repetitive writing making the songs get stuck in my head even more, and the great production that's just super nice to listen to. It's also nice to get a darker rap song with ''dotdotdot'' so that the sound doesn't get too stale. I feel like ''in ... read more
Beware everyone, hecking evilness about to commence >:3
Wasn't really a big fan of this one. Sounds less like an album and more like a random collection of unreleased singles. And none of these songs are on the same level as Brokie's actual singles. Most of this album sounds like songs she has already released, just worse. ''MARY POPPIN!'' is a nice song that goes hard, and the div produced ''BRING A FRIEND!'' is also a banger, but the other ... read more
I feel like I've heard the vocalist somewhere before... oh well, guess I'll never know :D.
I love this stuff. It's chaotic, glitchy, loud, interesting music done amazingly well. The production is very good, the vocals hit hard and sound awesome, and the writing is very cool and right up my alley. ''if we cannot meet...'' is probably my least favorite song, but that's only because it's an instrumental, and by no means a bad one. This is such a great ... read more
Yeah I think I'm done with Bali Baby for a while now :/
It just doesn't feel like she tries at all with her newer stuff. This thing is a prime example of that, it sounds so sloppy and quickly thrown out there. The intro song ''GLOCKY'' is just rambling and moaning for three minutes straight, same with the title track. They're both boring, and honestly kind of uncomfortable to listen to. Though the most uncomforting song here is ''BFCW'', ... read more
