same shit, the singles led me to believe he was going in a poppier more produced direction but no. the singles did that to varying levels of success, but the rest of the album is essentially identical to previous wedding song bs hes done. ed sheerans career is starting to feel like when a biopic comes out and wins every oscar cuz the guy screamed and cried and it was "beautiful". eds music just feels less and less genuine and becomes more and more formulaic.

This feels like the most honest and direct music from mr. Fike that we've ever gotten. Funnily enough, the bare production mixed with the really conversational and straightforward tone in these lyrics feels more thought out than his previous albums. Saying this as someone who loves his albums, this feels different in a good way

Loads of good songs, a few great ones and almost none I dont like but I expected more. After yeeaaars of teasers and talk, a good long mixtape is not what I wanted. I was waiting for something with some kind of through line that made it feel like an album which this doesn't. Pretty dull. Nothing really changes after the first 30 or so seconds. I see this as a mediocre attempt at a relatively over saturated sound that isn't all that when its done well

Definitely sick but not a huge step up from the last record. I'd say if anything some moments are less interesting and diverse than the forever story making this at times kind of slog along. Lyrics are still crazy, Definitely jids best feature list and they all show up, crazy flows and word play and all of it, just not as ambitious as I thought it would be
