sounds like a more metal focused polyphia but falls short in some respects. there are parts that i thought were really cool but there was also an equal share of parts that were mediocre, almost like a balancing act. also the mixing is too bass heavy, kind of detracts from the full sound of these songs. this album is almost great but a few shortcomings make me leave it with just an average rating.

this album has a really strong first half and tapers off on the second half but it's still the best of BMTH. this was obviously one of the most defining moments for the band with the introduction of more diverse song writing and a more emotional side being portrayed than their older records. imo best BMTH album that falls mostly under the metal genre umbrella.

funny stuff

really liked Dismalimerence's half of this split, black metal that doesn't fool around. Sadness's half wasn't my kinda thing, too much atmospheric not enough metal. decent split overall.
