The Strokes - Going Shopping

Little mixed because on one hand the instrumentation is really solid and the lyrics are decent. But that goddam autotune… I remember seeing people joke about taking away Julian’s autotune because apparently he uses it a lot on voidz. And I fully agree. Instantly ruined a probable 8/10 song to like a 5/10. I REALLY hope this isn’t an auto tune sludge fest and they change this song to having none of it. But it’s probably too late. I can only hope the rest of the album is ... read more

The Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream

spring time is here

the smashing pumpkins in my opinion for a while was unc slop. they weren't bad, but from what i could remember they only have 2 albums that are talked about because the rest just aren't that good. those being Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness & Siamese dream. now i haven't heard Mellon Collie yet as its 2 hours long and the only album i can sit through with that length is all things must past. so im probably not checking it out for a while. but i did ... read more

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour

i think my favorite Beatle has got to be William Shakespeare

this was my favorite Beatles album for the longest time so it pains me that i think abbey road has taken the 1 spot recently. so i just wanna yap about this album for a bit. sorry if i go off topic, i do that a lot.

the magical mystery tour by the Beatles is in my opinion the most underrated Beatles album. while most consider revolver, rubber soul, abbey road, etc. as their favorite. I've always have had a soft spot for this ... read more

i like cleaning

i heard this album while i was deep cleaning my room. sorry i didn't hear it in complete silence, but in my defense i did relisten to it by itself and it had the same effect. which is that its a very chill album that doesn't feel like its trying to turn heads, but more so just deliver what its wants to play. and i liked that. it gave a me a great feeling when i listened to it and it still makes me a little happier when i hear it. except for through, that makes me cry. ... read more

The Strokes - Angles

its neat

alot of people call this "the most forgettable" strokes album but i would personally say that title goes more towards FIoE. and neither of these albums are bad necessarily, its just the suffer from a similar problem being the lack of complete direction. its clear that on room on fire, is this it, and even the new abnormal, there is a clear plan and style or even themes they want to tackle. but as for angles? its more so just a compellation of a bunch of songs that although ... read more

underscores - U

super fun

I've heard a little of underscores before, but never a full album. and this was a pretty nice treat i will admit. but that's really all it is for me. i get why a lot of people are saying that they enjoy this album as it seems like an album that hones in on the whole "popstar" thing a lot more. but I'm just not really too engaged with this style of large poppy music as i wasn't really a huge fan of brat the first couple of listens. but nonetheless, once ... read more

BTS - ARIRANG

boring

I feel a lot of music recently is getting a little boring and unoriginal. By all means not all music, there have been some albums recently that clearly have passion are stuff like the new James Blake and injury reserve. But I’m talking about albums like the romantic that were most likely made just to get more money. And this album is pretty much the whole essence of that idea. It was made to just farm money off a dying industry with fans who will eat up whatever slop is put ... read more

Fontaines D.C. - Romance

Happy late paddy’s day

Fontaines D.C. has been a band I’ve been meaning to check out for a while as they are windmill adjacent and from what I’ve seen they seem like cool dudes. I checked this out yesterday and I really don’t have much to say besides that it’s good. But that’s just it. It has a lot of songs that stand out to me like favourite which is a 10/10 song and others like starburster are really really great. But the rest of it is sort of forgettable ... read more

This gonna be the greatest album of all time

高中正義 [Masayoshi Takanaka] - TAKANAKA

i cannot hate him

its a little hard to describe how i feel about takanaka's music as on one hand, i wanna be little music critic and say that its the same type of song over and over again. but on the other hand i get indescribable joy and whimsy when i listen to any of his songs to the point where even in my saddest days he can still make me smile. and yeah this album has alot of that smile music. its just wayy to fun and exciting for its own good and honestly i remember you and ready to ... read more

James Blake - Trying Times

chill album

i haven't even heard of James Blakes name before hearing this so i do not really know if this is his style or not but by the looks of it i think this was him branching out a little bit. and i really really enjoyed it. i woke up this morning and decided to put it on after being a little sleep deprived but it was a amazing experience. its well produced, has amazing vocals, and overall just a great vibe around it that i fw heavy. i guess my main issue is that a lot of the songs ... read more

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver

the kids are starting to look impossibly tan

lcd Soundsystem is one of the most praised bands of the 2000s and i never really saw why for a while. its not like i hated them, but it more so was that i first heard some of there songs at the start of last year and it didn't really amaze me to much. so i was extremely delighted and blown away to hear sound of sliver and although i took a while, i think I've truly come to appreciate this masterpiece for what it is. for one, the themes ... read more

BCNR friends forever!

i think its impossible for them to miss and this is probably my favorite post Isaac album but that's hard to say after looking at all the masterpieces he made when he was the front man. but anyway that asides i started listening to this as i got on my bus ride home and i ended it with me walking home down my street. all of it was awesome. it was a nice warm and sunny day today which was nice to have a break from since we have been dealing with at least 5 inches of ... read more

Mac DeMarco - This Old Dog
75

he got that sad little dog in him

Mac DeMarco has and most likely will always be a interesting person. if you go to his discography, you're probably going to find a song that will put you to the brink up tears and the next song being a goofy and upbeat one. his music is all over the place while still maintaining that jangle, folk, indie, and psychedelic trippy guitars and synths. this old dog by mac DeMarco is a prime example of his style being used for some of the best songs in his ... read more

Ween - White Pepper

ill take a pollo asado taco with a white pepper salsa on the side please!

this is surprisingly the most alienating ween album. i say surprisingly because when you have songs like "poop ship destroyer", "touch my tooter", "Candi", and several others which are horrible to sit through on other albums, this album has none of that and is where it becomes alienating. ween is notorious to making literal shit that is grating to the ears but that's what makes ween ... read more

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory

a real classic

this was one of my first ever album expositions to "good music" by that i mean at the time i was listening to genuine bottom of the barrel slop like ajr and shitty "meme songs" as i call it. so of course when i heard it i liked it but i forgot about it afterwards and i always think of what my music experience would look like today if i just kept listening to it but alas it took a while to develop. last year i wanted to revisit it around this time since i ... read more

Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden

what is the rolling stone on about?

this was album that took a while for me to properly digest as when i first heard it i thought it was somewhat boring, but i now think I've came around to it. its a gentle six track album which doesn't ask for much out of you if that makes any sense. its super atmospheric in its guitar and parts that are often super quite with only one or two instruments faintly playing. for me at least, i enjoy putting it on in the background while I'm ... read more

"and u never been shit in yo life 🥰" - Bruno Mars 2026

this is my first time listening to a Bruno album and not just a single on in the background of a thrift store. and i thought it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't really all that either. of course the main sell here is his vocal performance, which is incredible. i wouldn't say angel like but definitely above standard. but that's really all i can complement about it. the influences are clearly Latin inspired ... read more

TV Girl - Who Really Cares
75

Geordie Greep does crude lyrics so much better

who really cares by tv is a good album if you look past the "tik tok-ification" of it and the fanbase being incels or just insufferable people in general. to start off, the mixes in most songs are really great. but that's also where i feel like it falters a little bit. if your entire style is primarily samples then i feel like although it can be unique at first, it gets kind of grating later on. and that shows with till you leave, ... read more
