i dont get the hate on this one i thought it was amazing. it has great riffs and i think the first half is stellar. after Take Me Away i think it falls off a bit but that first 2 thirds is great. definitely a new style of metalcore for the band but i really like adams vocals and feel that the record does a good job of feeling grand and exciting. not much else to say i loved it way more and i was expecting. Never again, A Light In a Darkened World and the Forgotten were my favorites here
ive been sleeping on some heat for a while this shit is absolutely goated. perfect blend of that early melodic metalcore without sounding like absolute shit which i think a lot of similar albums have unfortunately. the riffs here go hard and stay consistently good throughout the entire thing without falling off. very emotionally heavy album with some absolute bangers spread without even if the first half is definitely better. my highlights for this one are Rose of Sharyn, Breathe Life and Take ... read more
this is my first exposure to the band and i think its pretty good. everything sounds really clean and the vocals are really nice here even if i feel they can be a bit bland at times. some of these songs are leading to some nice moments before resorting the the usual melodic metalcore chorus which just makes me think of how this could have been improved. still the guitars here are crisp and it has some absolute standouts in Hellbound and Nomad. will definitely have to check more of these guys ... read more
i had a lot of fun with this one. after a decent gap and with a new set of band members in tow, Amy Lee returned with the bands 3rd album which i really enjoyed. its a lot more symphonic this time and i really liked the sound. i think its more consistent than the open door with some really good tracks spread within its runtime. Amys voice is sharp as hell and once again she is the absolute star of the show in these records. if you like the "Evanescence" sound you will love this album ... read more
production feels better than the last one. Amy sounds really good on this album her voice shines even when i feel the songs arent giving her the greatest chances to. just less my type of thing here as most of the songs are slower ballad types which while nice to listen to just dont hit as hard as some songs on fallen. this album still has some standouts the 2nd half of "Like You" is fucking brilliant omg. regardless i still had a lot of fun listening to this and will gladly come back ... read more
