Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend

Man’s best friend
My favourite moments in this album are those in which Sabrina snaps and lets herself be possessed by bursts of folly, blending the line between irony and seriousness.
“my man’s in touch with his emotions, my man won’t touch me with a 20 ft pole”: these lyrics embody the identity of this album, an ambiguous project in which it’s not easy to tell if she’s singing these songs for fun or out of frustration, it that reminds me a bit of the ... read more

Björk - Debut

Funnily enough, for an artist as shapeshifting as Björk, her debut album has probably the most variety out of them all. This is a strength in some cases, as Big Time Sensuality and Anchor Song possess the same star quality despite being dramatically different, and a weakness in others, as it ends up sounding more like a mixtape rather than a fully fledged project

It's always beautiful to see an artist flourish into their own, but with Kim it's even more satisfying because it's clear she understands electro pop to a t, delivering bubblegum bangers and folktronica ballads without missing a beat.
Some of the material is a bit undercooked, but the songs get mediocre at worst, never bad.

The album is consistently gorgeous both in its production and its' beautifully confessional songwriting. It could very well take the title of "one of the best soundtracks of your early 20's", because of how eloquently it captures the confusion and ferocity of the years in which you have barely have the time to discover your identity before getting thrown in a whirlpool of new faces, new experiences and new ... read more

Naomi Scott - F.I.G

Sounds like coffee shop neutral background music.
The only praise I have here is for her voice, the’s an Fka twigs-esque quality to it that I really enjoyed.
Other than that, completely forgettable
