i see what he's trying to do, but it falls flat with subpar lyricism and rock tropes that frankly get boring
edit: okay, so. After researching more into this album, inspired by the comment i recieved on this. My view of Rivers Cuomo and this album changed so much. Hearing about his struggles and pairing it with a relisten of this album makes me appreciate this so much more, while I in general don't like weezer's musical style, I absolutely love this band's writing, message, ... read more
Overall good, but there's not much that I'll come back to not gonna lie. I'm hopeful for the next project they have but I'm not gonna expect anything too great.
i like this album, it wasn't absolutely phenomenal per se, but it was enough to ease the tension i was feeling before listening to this. It's nice to see someone shares the same pains that i do, not to say the subject matter is the only reason i like it, the production on this seems tired, just trying to get by, which also reflects in the singer's vocal delivery. Everything comes together to make a truly special project, can't wait to hear more from this artist
"so basically take all the good parts of brooklyn bridge to chorus, and do NONE OF THAT."
"DANCING ON A MOONBEAM"
it's alright..? i guess? the rating's not a joke I just simply do not think this album is that great. Not to say these are bad songs, just that they're kind of uninteresting to me, while much better than any other rock i've heard from the 70s, it doesn't make me feel all that much. Fun songs, would probably listen to a different album instead if given the choice though.
Overall, if this was a full album with this sound, I would be more than happy, this has to be the most addictive Strokes sound I've heard, especially from a track like Oblivius, what cuts it back is how short it is and even the unnecessary addition of the remix to Oblivius, while I love Moretti, it did not fit to add this in here, anyways, overhated EP, i think this is great
Listened to this while taking a dookie. Overall the only flaw i can glean from this album is that it changes far too little throughout, while with some of the tracks there's definitely very cool album sequencing, it gets a bit boring past Basket Case, doesn't hurt it all too much though, since either way, it's not an album MEANT to be listened to in one sitting, it's a fun record meant to dance to. And for that, I think this is a great album.

could just be because of how overplayed it is, but i do NOT like this song whatsoever, Arctic Monkeys has so many better songs
nothing but PURE fun, the ads luckily haven't ruined it for me because i am a child.
Overall, will say, I'm listening to this album right after starting Ramadan, what a way to get energy at 5 in the morning,,
This album is FILLED with a bunch of songs that just sound like they're having fun, not all of them will hit, but those that do will hit SO hard, highly recommend !!
