I really wish you were here. The organs, the synth, the piano, everything reminds me of everyone and everything I have lost, and somehow, everything I will ever lose. The feeling of not wanting to let go. Even if the body you reside in turns to ash. Even if the fire enveloping you consumes me too. Even if you hold on to me even tighter than I do, carrying me into the wind with your immolated corpse. It will be forever hard to leave, no matter how much it hurts.

This was my first actual Mitski album listen, so I didn't really come in with expectations, and to be honest, I left glad I did. Don't really think too exceptionally of this project, I feel as if it lacks a direction or at least a place where it wants to go, and things start to feel like they're blending together once I get to that second half. Was fun, was good, and am intrigued, but the lack of oomf on here really toned down the experience.
An extremely electric and sonically maximal album that details the build, crescendo, and fall of a star man, an electric rockstar. It tells us about his vibrant, electric soul. His selfish nature. His larger-than-life personality, and how everything that makes people love him, is what stops him from caring for himself. The progression is great, it's sad, it's happy, and has some phenomenal songs. A classic from Bowie.
One of the most legendary albums, not just rock, of all time, and at the same time a very mystical listen. There is no dark side of the moon, really, it's all dark. But there is a dark side. It's the side the sun decides not to shine on. I will say, something about this album is oddly comforting. It feels like a reminder that the people making this music experience things as well, especially exemplified through some of these lyrics. I really liked it, good entry into prog-rock.
Meddle, as the start to this Pink Floyd journey, actually does feel like a really great tone setter. While some of the songs on here are a little long, the wait for Echoes is pretty worth it, even if I personally don't like it as much as others. I mean, shit, it's a Floyd album, a critically acclaimed one at that. What else is there to say?
From the moment that drop hit on (flake), I knew this was going to be an essential listen. One of the most loose things I've ever listened to and a sign that I need, need, NEED to listen to more jazz. This album feels like watching cave paintings dance on a wall. Beautiful, worth it.
