Expectations were massively let down for me.
This may just be me not liking the main sound on here too much. Most of the beats go for some over glamorous or Hollywood type of sound, and personally it sounds boring and corny. Lil Tecca himself doesn’t really help as he makes little effort on actually changing anything with his flow, voice, or really anything else. It doesn’t help that on less hip hop tracks and sometimes in general he sounds a bit awkward. And while a somewhat ... read more
Probably the worst way this could’ve gone.
Lil Wayne’s long awaited album just dropped, but it could’ve stayed in the vault. Lil Wayne himself on here couldn’t sound more washed. Most flows sound off or shit, metaphors and similes all range from decent to corny, and every time he sings it makes my ears bleed. Features…couldn’t really care. None of them stood out for what it’s worth. And the production on here is probably the most baffling thing on ... read more
WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY WHERE PEOPLE SIT BEHIND THEIR SCREENS AND TALK SHIT๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฃ๐ฃ
Coming into this EP and seeing the kinda low score, I didn’t really know what to think. I like both JPEG and Flume, but this came out more commercial and less risky than I would’ve thought. The production is what I expected, glitchy, sputtery, weird patterns, and I like it mostly throughout the EP, but it’s JPEG’s approach that lessens it. Him going for more singing and laid back ... read more

This album by Bleood has been long in the wait, and I’d say it was worth it. The sound of this project ranges from old Chicago drill sound to a complete collage of noises. The 808s most times swallows the whole track up, and along with Bleood’s usual high pitched glitchy vocals, it’s an understatement to say it’s hard to understand, but the appeal really comes from how well his voice fits in with this weird, unique sound of his. Most beats can also be ... read more
What a great return for Ghost. After having left HM around RB3, I expected he just wouldn’t come back, after around four years, he’s returned, and I’d argue he’s better now than previous. The sound on here is heavy in its Salem inspiration, with witch house practically being the main sound. It works amazing with Ghost though because his voice is so damn harmonic and smooth. Sem and Buck did their thing too, as they both contributed the same type of vibe Ghost was aiming ... read more
Just off this album alone, Ok has lost his charm already.
I was a bit excited about a new Osamason album, considering how I thought Flex Music was a big step in the right direction from Osama Season, as well as the singles he dropped like “The Whole World Is Free” or “I Know What You Did Last Summer”. The sound was refreshing to me, but now it just sounds like a slight variant of Rage. The sound on here barely changes, and I’m not sure if I can even use barely. ... read more
Gotta say…I’m starting to see it when people say this formula’s getting boring.
When I first heard that their would be a Hackle and Buckshot EP, I was hype as well. I thought their would be some hype shit, some salem witch house shit on there, but what I didn’t expect was a four track snooze fest. The producer on three of the four tracks does fine, but even in just those three tracks alone I heard similar drum patterns and melodies. I feel like if Sematary took a hand ... read more
Truly a pluggnb classic.
I finally visited this mixtape from Summrs, and I probably found some of his best songs on here. This is like prime Pluggnb, and it’s probably a peak for the genre. Everything on here sounds so lively on here, ranging from the vocals, beats, melodies, etc…While most things sound the same, I don’t truly mind. Lil Rino does great with his flows and vocals to keep this all entertaining. Overall, while pretty one-note, this is still a consistent, well ... read more
I’ll take back what I said about his sound not being really different from his other records (sorta), but what I won’t take back is that this is a mess. It was a bad sign when Noid to me was messy and all over the place, and I kinda feel the same here. The theme is truly confusing. Maybe I got a small brain but I don’t get what Tyler’s trying to do story wise. With the sound, it’s unique to his albums in a way, but it’s a little hit or miss. Some sounds felt ... read more
I’ll be real, I don’t really get this.
It for sure ain’t bad, but just feels lackluster. It feels like he’s trying to do new stuff with his already fully fleshed out sound. The whole song sounds like a chore, constant rummaging and random, honestly non-needed moments. Won’t fully dismay the album cause it’s Tyler and I’m pretty sure it’ll be good, but this is just an underwhelming start.
I really wanna see what people see in 2024 Carti, but I can’t see it. This is just whatever, and his new voice makes this worser. I’d rather have baby voice Carti back.
A disappointment to say for sure.
If you listened to any of his songs, you listened to this whole album. Not kidding. Everything from the beats, lyrics, flows, especially flows. Anything you name, it’s probably just the same. The only thing that saves this is that I actually like the dark and eerie tone of all of this, even if it’s legit the whole album. Overall, really, really repetitive. He needs to diversify his sound, cause this prob won’t last.

This is probably like the first rage album I’ve liked lol.
Che is so damn creative, possibly the most creative and diverse rapper in the underground.. The beats on here are truly top notch, and each one of them has their own characteristics that makes them stand out. While Che is a bit too mumbled on some tracks, his vocal presence and often uplifting lyrics still add more positive than negative. As for the sound, it’s like rage of rage had passion. It really sounds like Che ... read more
SlimeGetEm has been blowing up with his song Mashallah I Cooked Him, and his presence on that track kinda connects with every other track on here.
The sound of this EP sounds like it came from DMV (Besides Dreaming), which makes sense cause he’s from Washington D.C. It’s gritty, tough, and full of dark pads and pianos. It’s a sound I’m pretty fond of. SlimeGetEm on here is always having energy on each track and his lyrics are most times entertaining, which kinda makes ... read more
It ain’t that bad, but this simply isn’t my type of music. On top of that, his flow and voice kinda annoys me and that synth sounds kinda ass, but not that bad.
I swear Tenkay was one of the most talented rappers in 1C. Sad he’s not in the group now๐ข
On this record, Tenkay provides a chill, laid back atmosphere with plenty of great flows, bars, and melodies. His bars are one of the key parts that make this entertaining, as his metaphors always come across as more cool and not too corny, which is always a plus in my book. The mood of some songs on here are honestly emotional, which did, and didn’t surprise me. With his recent departure ... read more
Another Polo G project, another 18 piano instrumentals…
Hood Poet didn’t really catch my eye when it was first announced. Mainly because every project I’ve heard from him in recent years has been more and more formulaic. This is pretty much going down the same downward slope. Mainly in the first half, we get a lot of the same type of tracks that Polo has been doing, emotional piano/guitar instrumentals and him singing his heart out. Some tracks though stand out, like the ... read more
