Vince Staples - Cry Baby

Mr. Vince Staples has just dropped one of the best political hip-hop albums of all time.

Thematically, there is so much to unpack I don't really no where to begin. Vince Staples' political commentary on every track is grounded in the different shades found in oppression. These emotions range from rage, despair, apathy, depression, and vigilance. Vince's prose is densely packed with complex tapestries addressing many aspects of the current american political climate. shut up.

This album has so much class, idk how else to explain it.

The production, lyrics, vocals are all at the forefront and deliver in almost every regard in my eyes.

This is a top tier R&B album and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

Danny Brown - XXX
75

it’s somehow the tamest but also the least organized of Danny Brown’s projects.

It’s got its own unique sound but I honestly felt underwhelmed for most of it.

Danny Brown - Stardust
71

I think I would’ve liked this album more if I wasn’t straight.

sidenote - the features on this album is fr the underground rap avengers but gayer. Like it’s crazy seeing shteppi on a Danny Brown project shit is just surreal.

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition

“I be on the chemicals, she be on my testicles”

god-tier lyricism.

Kero Kero Bonito - Flamingo

I just like the shrimp drawing on the cover I’m ngl

This Is Sky - Identity

a hidden gem for those interested in electronic/ambient music

Michael Jackson - Bad

taking off 5 points because we never got to know if Annie was okay.

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Imagine having half of your nine-track LP being timeless classics.

Well this whole album is a timeless classic in and of itself.

Bruh it’s Michael Jackson what else am I supposed to do?

Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

One of those songs you put on at karaoke because everyone knows the words.

Joji - Piss In The Wind

interludes for 45 minutes.

Gorgeous ass interludes, but still interludes nonetheless

JPEGMAFIA - EXPERIMENTAL RAP
70

not his strongest project but it’s relatively consistent, creative, and delivers in most aspects. Although I wish the tracks were a tad bit longer, the album doesn’t feel rushed in any way for me. Overall, another solid project on the discog.

Nujabes - Luv(sic) Hexalogy
100

possibly one of the greatest instrumental hip-hop projects ever created

Drake - HABIBTI
11

I genuinely believe that Drake just happened to find a crusty ass USB drive full of B-side tracks and decided to release it without mixing and mastering them because I swear none of this shit was actually reviewed by an actual studio.

It’s honestly impressive how horrible Drake is at making a coherent project.

Drake - MAID OF HONOUR

the cover art was how I felt listening to this pile of dogshit

Drake - ICEMAN
51

this album is the musical equivalent to a boiled chicken breast seasoned with salt and pepper with lemon squeezed on it.

Honestly, it began with some solid tracks but slowly lost its momentum halfway through and started to sound like your average Drake album.

Overall the project is a bit above average for Drake but that’s not really a high bar to begin with.

is smokey bbq pork halal?

...yes

Yall are tweaking hard bro

The cinematic shots, choreography, the atmosphere in general are all fire. Lowkey the only part that brought it down for me was the part at the end with the transition which seemed kinda basic.

JPEGMAFIA - babygirl
NR

you now have my attention.

The beat, the sample, the flows, it’s all pointing to another potential amazing album incoming.

"@spaceheavy I have no issues of trying to convey this type of message, but when you have features like Lefty Gunplay and TD$, the actual execution of setting this type of religious tone can seem a bit inconsistent or not very genuine to me."
