while it doesn't necessarily blow it out of the water, it's certainly an avid try and does what it meant to accomplish to a degree. there are a couple songs on here that are iffy but overall a solid take on music and a good listen.
THE VIBES ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD! what a crazy album! it takes me to places i've never been. i really couldn't have asked for a better album from her. there are no skips whatsoever. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
while a strong follow-up to her previous work, it doesn't exactly land the mark in some songs. i find a few to be rather bland. on the other hand, there are songs like "valentine, texas" and "the only heartbreaker" that have beautiful instrumentals to back emotional vocals. overall, a pretty good listen.
this album always left me speechless with its vocal harmonies and beautiful instrumentation. i always found myself coming back to this album again and again for more. one of my favorites from her, if not my favorite.
a total comfort album. soothing, poetic lyrics and calming instruments fill the mind with a vision of a peaceful life.
blissful and nostalgic, it really brings the listener into a state of euphoria. its lullaby-like melodies and pretty vocals draw the listener into a world of pure nostalgia. and yes i said nostalgia again.
soulful guitars and dark vocals accompany this album, which fills the heart with deep emotions. love it.
i saw a comment on the youtube video for this album that puts it pretty well, though i can't find it anymore so i'll have to paraphrase: "came in looking for good music, left with mild radiation."
the essential introduction to post-punk and post-rock music. it haunts the soul with droning synths and dreary guitars (in a good way). one of my top post-rock albums of all time.
this album is definitely in my top 25 albums of all time. there are absolutely no skips. every time i wanna listen to this, i listen all the way through. i can't pick out one bad song honestly.
this album takes me to another place. it is enthralling and puts you in a trance that you cannot escape until breaking free in the final song. from the goofy antics of DOOPEE TIME to the passionate and heartbreaking chord progressions of SOME DAY, THAT PLACE IN TIME, this album is timeless and will never leave me nothing short of speechless.
