I mean this in the best way possible, WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST LISTEN TO. I don’t have much to say except for WHY ISNT THIS ON SPOTIFY
They really took full advantage of the CD rom tech of the era for this ost, I mean it’s called Sonic CD for a reason. This is up there with Rondo of Blood for highest quality retro game soundtracks, and is one of the most influential game soundtrack of all time.
(Just based on the first side) This ost fucking rocks. The act ones are metal as all hell and the act twos lean into a more melodic, groovy, and sometimes playful tone. This ost is the character of shadow put into music.
Chill asf, listened while doing homework and it helped me lock in. Sampling and atmosphere is immaculate, and now I must watch Samurai Champloo to see what this man and the other brilliant minds on the sound team cooked for that ost.
I don’t really have a rating cuz I just lump these songs in with the rest of the adventure soundtrack but this album is pretty sweet. Also cool detail that every song is a different genre to represent each individual character’s personality.
I don’t like the ost as much as the first game’s (honestly same for the game itself) but still full of bangers
Sega sound team never misses. Play this game if you haven’t.
My buddy recommended me this album and I was actually in the middle of studying Japanese and I had nothing better to listen to so I gave it a shot. Wow. Its uniquely chilling atmosphere and theatric storytelling made it a worthwhile experience. I had no context on the artist or album before listening so it was a completely blind experience, but it still managed to capture me. It was an interesting experience like no other.
Q really pushed his artistic and conceptual limits on this one. He’s able to go in a new direction sonically and explore deeper writing while maintaining his signature aggressive gangster style, resulting in one of the most exciting hip hop records of 2024.
Riding the high from their previous masterpiece, Jack and Meg perfect their formula with this album. It’s their most polished record with many hits and crazy energy, but doesn’t innovate quite as much as their previous release.
This is such a monumental album in the duo’s catalogue and a massive step up from their first 2 albums. They’re able to maintain the raw uniqueness from their early sound while being even more ambitious and creative culminating in the best White Stripes album and quite possibly my favorite album of all time.
My friends and I decided to listen to this album today because none of us had heard it. This classic album is very influential for psychedelic rock and has many catchy songs and experimental sounds for a very interesting and fun listen.
