"And if you loved me, you would never do this
Our futures battered and bloody, it's so fucking ruthless
That makes you a killer, a killer, a killer"
Kind of felt sick in my stomach listening to that, it's just how powerful so many of the lyrics are. I don't know why I haven't listened to this sooner because this is mind blowingly amazing, love the mix of dreamy and dark lyrical and musical vibes - took me through a whole rollercoaster of emotions.
It's nice listening to it but for most every song I felt something was missing and I can't put my finger on it, still an enjoyable listen
I love her music so much. She's the kind of artist who I hope keeps music forever so I have it throughout my life. I never feel I am more transported into a new world, emotions, perspective, and place than when I listen to her music. I loved reading how some of the songs were made in different countries, different instruments she found at her friend's places or in a church. That sense of adventure is captured in the songs.
This album is so special in how effortless it feels, loose, relaxed, ... read more
Only got one full listen in but I just did not expect such a defeating, meditative album on death, while also being so revealing and personal about the things Lana has gone through - I did not expect to cry but fingertips destroyed me.
It's followed by Paris, Texas which I really loved, it mirrors the story of the film by the name and it just connects with me, I love these two songs. Two singles are also standouts. I need a little more time with the last third but it was groovy - oh my god the ... read more
I really think some of the most delicate moments I've ever experienced with music are on here, the more I went down the tracklist, the more engrossed I was in the story, and the more I felt like I was with the narrator in the same rooms, and its a really beautiful, sad and bitter journey, it is really special how such a detailed night, conversations, ideas, and a whole relationship is painted within this album.
I had to relisten after her new album came out. Crushing is so fittingly named, you feel the weight and the emotional power of the way heartbreak is explored in this and it feels just as advertised by the name. For me, this is by far the best break-up album I have heard because of how much it covers across its 10 tracks, from the self-loathing to the desperate fight to find yourself again after, the grief, chasing their ghost, and all the way to acceptance by the last track. It's perfect.

Julia Jacklin has been my comfort music since last year, and this album couldn't be more perfect for the time of my life it has come out in. I can't be more grateful for her music.
For me, her music is all about being kind to yourself, while also coming to terms with a lot of complicated feelings. The sound here captures that beautifully, it's so sweet and gentle. Every beat, lyric, and sound feels so carefully crafted across the 10 songs. It truly feels we got the best of the best.

If you get it, you get it. Not many albums make me feel as much as this, not many songs can plant such vivid imagery in my head from their words. It's like I experience this album as much visually as I do with my ears, film scenes are playing out in my head because of how descriptive the writing is. More than that, it's like I'm experiencing someone else's memories, pain, sadness, and grief intertwined with mine. It's magical. It's gotten me through some really tough times and also inspired me ... read more
You can make fun of them as much as you want, I know this site is full of hate for them but for me their music is beyond beautiful. Across their whole discography, they only have one message, to stay alive. I have needed that in my life and I can't be more thankful to them for saying that with the kindest lyrics. Many nights and years where all I had was their music.
