im only on the 3rd song but ts got transitions??? he really got a chance to be huge in the ug after this icl (why are we collabing with raininglol tho he could def try to get che on it)
so close to listening to this cause I love thug but I’m not tryna listen to the modern day diddy π
this is just as good if not better than the original and I can’t believe it, 100% the most consistent in the ug rn
was pretty disappointed that the singles were significantly better than practically every song that is new, but those singles are really great and some of his best songs. tbh havent really relistened to the new songs much for that reason so my rating could be a little bit low but unforunately i think this is for sure his weakest besides maybe his debut.
pnd gets too much hate cause this is one of the best rnb albums of its time and theres a reason why most of the songs have gotten popular online, this first 8 track run is flawless and thirsty and muse are both great, though i find options and bout it pretty boring. not that i think pnd is actually bad now, but its a shame hes fallen off a pretty good amount since this, hopes are still up for p5 tho. i look at pnd as if the weeknd kept the darkness of trilogy and kiss land but never switched it ... read more
i put off this album for like 3 years and even more after lover got the king of performative songs title but i finally did a few months ago and once again i was a dumbass. dont really know how you cant say this isnt perfect, and again, going into this with my knowledge of lover, i definitely did not expect to end this album having it as my 5th favorite. not even really sure what to say about this that hasnt been said other than i guess the only song i dont think is amazing besides corpus ... read more
ive loved brent but honestly didnt expect for this to be far and away my aoty so far considering who else has dropped so far. don't think this is his best work like many ive seen have said, but its still amazing and i think cements him as the best rnb artist since the weeknd besides probably frank (yes i think he has two nearly perfect albums, but at a point the quantity can catch up to the quality). I personally have a bias towards dark and alt rnb but damn butterflies is so out of left ... read more
not bad at all but a 5 year wait for it to be worse than his last two projects is crazy imo. second half is significantly better, picks up after the kendrick features which the first one was fine and actually reminds me of his 2016ish feature run and the second one was pretty terrible. I think honestly a big reason why I found this boring was the production being so lackluster, only being interesting on like 5 songs. found the most lyrical songs and the least lyrical songs to be the best, while ... read more
one of futures most underrated projects, has some decently low lows but the highs are amazing. not that thats the same case with save me but i think they fit similar niches in his discog as small and short projects that contain some of his best songs oat. think the middle is a bit bloated on this one but the closing 5 are all great plus wicked which isnt on this tracklist
hits on hits on hits, listened to this soon after it came out and remember it instantly becoming one of my favorite albums of the year. this was the first i had listened to him but had known about him for years prior and as a huge young thug fan, hes probably the person who takes his thug inspiration to the max and best execution. while thug has unfortunately been on a downturn, worse since so much fun and id argue actually bad on uy scuti, this feels on the same level as thugs peak. now to ... read more
it is just genuinely mind boggling to me that this is rated lower than tpab. even if you want to say that tpab is a 10/10 then this album is like a 14/10. every song has such a depth lyrically and sonically that i think you could listen to this as spoken word or as an instrumental and it would be almost as great as they are together. the way hes able to speak about every emotion and feeling and stage of life and faith all in one album is awe-inspiring and is one of a few albums that i could ... read more
heard sloppy joe like 20 times on instagram in 2 weeks and most of them werent even about the actual song but i had to give this a listen and damn this shit is really great. such a short but consistent project that i think is the best underground album from last year besides rib and star, and i feel like its basically a perfect blend of those two albums. i loved star because of the electronic elements and i loved rib mostly because of the melodic songs but the rage songs were also great, and I ... read more
from an artist who i think has 2 ~9/10 projects with at long last and live love, this album was so incredibly disappointing. feel like i left this album extremely bored and with very few memorable moments. i think punk rocky was just average for one of the singles he dropped within the last 8 years, but it ended up being the best song on the album imo. stay here 4 life is probably my second, but i wouldve preferred it as the original brent only version that leaked a few months ago. the last 3 ... read more
think this is the least amount of features he’s had on an album since his debut but I think that made them even more enjoyable then they would normally be, especially teezo and sah
ik a good amount of the fanbase doesnt like the fully melodic don but thats what ive always loved him for and I think that the mostly "love letter" angle of it caan lead it to be occasionally boring but still very good.
dont think this is his best but I think this is his most complete and consistent ... read more
HOLY MOLY this is great! not as good as the original bc I prefer his melodic songs but there were still great additions on here (besides make out with my choppa dawg take that off π)
haven’t listened yet but none of the reviews I’ve read have had the Drake song being the worst but it’s still the lowest rated gotta be the sign of the wonderful aoty bias
this man is still really yet to miss. I want to say this might be his best but I think all three of his albums could be. has one of the strongest catalogs I can think of in recent times and even though case study is a little bit lower quality, it’s still a great project. this is definitely his most stripped back album instrumentally, but I think it really serves it well for what we was trying to do on this, and not that his voice hasn’t been incredible since he came out, but ... read more
before caos releases in only 2 weeks now (very lucky for becoming a fan earlier this year and not having to wait the full 8 year hiatus since it and war and leisure), i think this is definitely his best work. there are many songs on every one of his projects i think are perfect, but somehow i think this has his three best songs of all time in waves, leaves, and face the sun. i think a huge contributor to this was the larger scale use of live instrumentation on this project compared to his ... read more
