I think this is his all around most consistently great album. i think this ones got no misses, but I think wildheart's highs are a little bit higher despte having 2 tracks im not a fan of. the starting 3 track run is incredible and gets you right into the style that he sticks pretty close to the entire album besides arguably the last 3 tracks being more stripped back, which I also love. even as someone who listened to this and the rest of miguels catalog only a few months ago, I do ... read more

so thug I would rather have gotten ts as an ep over 90% of the songs on uy scuti, people listening in the future will never know that these songs were created way before this era and will hear these songs first on the album and think wow there’s no way he keeps this up for the rest of the album! and they would be completely right. there’s no reason for this to be connected to uy scuti in the slightest. crazy how 6 songs (didn’t like ... read more
short, concise, and practically perfect. when I listened to this album the first time id really never listened to something this style before, i knew sampha from his extensive features with people like drake and kanye and heard glowing reviews of this album (lahai wasn’t out yet) and decided id go a little out of my comfort zone on this one and i had never been so convinced on an intro in my life. plastic 100c is one of my favorite songs of all time and im not saying its my favorite intro ... read more
I don’t really see the wlr comparison besides some of the first half, which I think is the significantly weaker half just because the second half is actually incredible. I still think there’s some good stuff in the beginning besides some mediocre songs like bossup and die young and the actually bad on fleek, but damn the run from hellraiser to eardrummer is near perfect. this years been one for the books music wise, especially for rnb which I’m so happy to see in one of its ... read more
gotta say this now before I listen to it but why do ppl not fw sah? this the second album in a month hes been featured on and both of them that song is one of the lowest rated and both of them have been bangers
actual review: I love how he decided to be more melodic on this album and I think the prod on a lot of songs are more laid back then he’s every done before and I think he fits it really well. I don’t think he’s going to keep it for adl but I’d be very happy if he ... read more
overhated project fs, there was some bloat and im upset that great songs like pbt and shyne got ruined by a stupid feature and sample respectively. I dont know why some people went into this expecting the quality of a real travis album, maybe because of the actual album length tracklist compared to the og jackboys but I dont think that theres much inherently wrong with this project and im happy to have gotten it. also was so happy to hear sah and trav collab on a beat that sounds like such a ... read more
decided to listen to the whole album after rehearing sky walker after it got popular online a month or two ago and this is just like a really consistently good rnb album. happy that I liked this album a good amount and seeing that this is his second lowest rated album makes me really excited to hear the rest of his discog. reason why I’m reviewing it now after two months since my first listen is that I was coming back from the beach yesterday and caramelo duro came on and I had only ... read more
if your putting off listening to this album bc uve heard people say it’s a country rap album, don’t. it really isn’t one at all, I guess people got that idea just because of the heavy use of guitar thru the whole project but I really don’t see much of the country inspiration besides a few tracks like the intro. great album and slides ride in with the rest of thugs peak run from 2015-2019, and while it stands out the most prod wise, thugs rapping is just as consistently ... read more
one of the best trap albums oat, even though I don’t think it’s necessarily strictly trap. production is really addicting and Carti is very versatile through the whole album along with basically every feature
slightly worse than wlr imo but album is great, and only got better by adding 3 songs that are prob in the top 7 of the whole album (don't love backrooms)
edit 85-70: album didn’t really get worse for me but just finally realized the unbelievable level of bloat on it
i love pnd as it is but he gotta make more 1942s. definitely a slight step down from the first two albums, but this one’s still great
