A beautiful album filled with hypnotic synths and rhythms. A lot of people are saying that the album leaking takes away from this official release, something I was unaware of. Coming into this album for the first time is an amazing experience.
This kicked off really well with Halo but the rest felt messy, more like a playlist than a cohesive album. There are still definitely some good tracks that makes it worth listening to.
The first half is underwhelming but transforms into some of the coolest and weirdest rock I've heard.
First rated this a 90 but its grown on me so much I can't give it anything below a perfect score. It's a flawless and seamless record that has no lows and soaring highs.
An incredible fusion of jazz and hip hop, incredible instrumentals with a great delivery makes this one of the best jazz rap albums this year.
Some amazing and experimental instrumentals which don't really match up with the vocal performances, leaving the project feeling a bit messy.
An overall enjoyable record with a few 10/10 songs like Less Sex and City Song
The Comet is Coming and Shabaka Hutchings has created one of the most interesting and compelling Nu Jazz album of all time. It takes what was so amazing on the Sons of Kemet record and perfects it.
One or two highlights but other than that this album just feels bland. It lacks the attitude that makes punk interesting.
