One of the very best albums I've ever heard if not The best. Brilliant
The rapper is extremely capable in his lyrical and flowing ability. By the sounds of the lp has a lot of creative potential, but he chooses to channel it towards a pop-rap direction. As an artist who's still making his name in the mainstream, it might make it hard for him to stick out.
dissapointed at the lack of creativity. the album is very mainstream and it sounds like a major label rapper trying to please his boss. However 'ascension' is one of the best songs this year for me and it pretty much saves the album from being too dissapointing. I cant wait for his next project though. im a huge fan!
This album sees j cole develop more as a musician than a rapper. Its does get boring pretty quickly though
best songs: no role models, wet dreams, aparently
Same old Wiz, doing the the same old thing but it works for him. there are a lot of skipable tracks and fillers though
best songs: Paperbond, rise above, work hard play hard
worst songs: up in it, let it go, bluffin
This has to be the most complete project anyone has released in the past decade. Even if your not a mac miller fan, you will enjoy this. Sometimes his flow sounds broken but thats the genius behind the whole thing. Its the Authenticity of his emotions and the honesty in his lyrics. Its a crime that this was ... read more
The project carries the same tempo throughout so after a while it starts to sound like your repeating the same song over and over. not good, not bad, just avarage
Doesn't Sound like an album, sounds like a bunch of random songs put together, although a lot of them are pretty nice to listen to. the Autotune style is also sooo unoriginal
